Benefits of Lipo are 1) I run the same battery over and over and over, it never leaves the car. 2) Don't have to mess with peaking 30 sec before the race or discharging/charging maintence. 3) Not wondering why an IB cell suddenly went bad.
Forget the weight, Lipo's are simple.

Yep, you'll be seeing me there.......Booked my flight tonight!

Not sure 'bout GT2 though. Had a rough weekend at Trackside. That and I don't have a box full of B3 tires.

I think I will keep it simple (packing-wise) and just bring the mini, a charger, and a Lipo. Oh, and of course the GT-01 Porsche. I got some unfinished bizness to settle with Demory.

Not to stir up the pot, but can I assume TA does not require a Lipo Sack/Safe for charging?

Being outdoors I would think they wouldn't.

I have posted my pictures on my flickr account.

They can be found Here

Thanks to Sarah and Buck for helping while I was racing

All reserved for Memphis...and hopefully soon...the nationals at Trackside!

So 1 more mini and a GT3 car there!

Steven key i was going to run nimh and then switched when a 3200 was waived in my face right before the first qualifier.

Also i believe sunderlach was running nimh atleast he did early sat during the first qual.

either was i believe the weight break is far more benifical to the little voltage increase you get with nimh

On to better things LOL

What rubber tires and inserts are good for asphalt for both mini and touring car. Planning a round trip to memphis

Great to see everyone again at Trackside. Lots of laughs, as usual, along with some great racing. The GT2 triple A's were so intense, I really don't think I could've gone another second. Great pix Boomer! but where's the one I took of YOU? C'mon, don't be shy now.

No sweat Mike, I just wanted to post who ran what to give people an idea on if there was an advantage with one over the other.

Here is my suggestion; Matt and I have been running "A" compound slicks in Memphis. The inserts will depend on the temperature, if it's hot you will want a firm insert like a Tamiya black, if it's cooler go with a medium like Tamiya blue insert.

The Memphis club has a web site, it's right below the Wisconsin site on RC tec. I'm sure they could give you more advice on tires and a Mini set-up. There was something like 56 Mini's at Memphis last year and the competetion was very tight.

FYI Mike, you have to provide your own power, tables, chairs, EZ up ect. when you go to Mempis. The track is in a shopping center parking lot.

Good Luck

Default GT1 - Lipo ?

I was looking at the rules last night and it seems that Lipos are not allowed in GT1 ..... right ? I guess I assumed that since GT2 and GT3 were Lipo friendly that GT1 was as well. Could someone confirm this for me ? I will be attending my first TCS in Aliso (with my Mini) but would love to run GT1 as well. Thanks.
