Bottom line, ROAR's spec is a little more restrictive than ours, so it clearly falls within our rules. The HPI thing is moot, since I'm not aware of another company that makes tires for the class.

Hope this gets to you in time, Grant.

Thanks Todd. Just the clarification I needed. Got last night and good to go.

Thanks canyon for your help at the shop. Much appreciated.

Default Balancing TA05 chassis

So, I'm trying to balance my TA05 chassis right/left and front/back and was hoping to get some advice from some of you experts .

How many ounces are "normal" to have to add to one side of the chassis or the other? I've added two ounces so far to the motor side and am still under on that side. And, since all electronics are on that same side, I really don't have many places towards the outside of the chassis to place the 8 individual lead weights.

Is there another place I should look at placing weights (like the outside of the tub)? Should I be using heavier weights than the individual 1/4oz squares?

Also, what is the center point that other TA05-ers like to balance front/back on?

Any help would be appreciated . I would really like to get the chassis in balance first before attempting other tunings as it seems pointless to tune away with an unbalanced chassis resulting in unpredictable behavior.

I used to take out the center screw on the shock tower and use those holes. They may still be missing. :-p

Sorry I dont know where to add the weights though. My car was never balanced any better than I could get just sticking lead to the grooves in my LiPo (I always ran those shaped molded case jobbys which had lots of room to stick weights).

We can work on sorting it out at the track too. There is no shortage of TA05 talent in this club.

Oh man, why didn't I think of that . That's a heck of a lot easier than the engine-block-plus-screw method I was using to balance the car on. Sweet .

I am going to run 1/12 scale this season. I miss driving them badly.

However, I am not down with buying the latest 1s "timing ramp" ESC every month to see how fast I can go slow...

So, I am purchasing stuff for mod 12th scale. I have spoken to a few guys who are with me on this. I am posting this to encourage more to hopefully run with us this season. Brian, you better be one of them!

Im sure there will be race days at the hangar that I am the only one that shows up to run mod. In that case I will just throw a 13.5 motor in and crank my XXS speedo to 10 on the punch and go with it.

I cant wait to run the little cars again! My mouth waters at the thought of Paragon!

See you guys soon!

after watching the pan cars at IIC i decided I wanted to jump back in again, but then again, looking at the number of races I would actually use it, I'm out again, just 17.5 sedan for me.

I have a speed that will work. One question for the 1/12th guys is where and what size receiver pack are the ones to get. I don't want to go the novak way.

Working on my TA05, replacing one of the center belt pullies a couple of weeks ago. When I am taking the assembly apart the crescent ring holding it together went into hyperspace. I have torn my entire garage about looking for it. searched every RC shop on the internet trying to buy some and evidentially Tamiya has decided they don't need to make them any more.

Anyone have one I could buy that will be at the hanger Sunday?
