LOL! Seriously, I just laughed out loud at my computer. I guess it's been a long day...

Default Stock Touring

First, let me pay respect to the Comp Committee who did such a good job on our rules package for the season. They worked hard on it, and it has served us well.

While not unilateral, the decision to split the Stock Touring class did not receive the full internal discussion that such a move should require. I'm going to back it out and take responsibility for the decision and the confusion.

That said, the race last night was well attended, the Stock Touring class was full, and the verdict is clear. However well intentioned, the racers did not embrace the concept. We ran as always, everyone had a good time, and the qualifying seeded the mains and we had us a race.

So, that whole Open/Sportsman 17.5 Touring thing just a couple of pages back? Ignore it. I won't delete the post because, among other things, this thread represents a historical record of the club's progress. It should be saved. But, we're going to pretend it never happened. If change is to come, it will come with the full participation of the Comp Committee and the membership.

Default heads up starts.....

I am rather fond of heads up starts..... something about grabbin the trigger at the tone... and the question in your head.. "will i make that first corner clean?" maybe thats just me. either way, gotta love racing at the hangar!

any chance of painting a grid up on the back strait??

The dude who loves to stir the pot!

When people learn that a qualifier is a qual and not a race then maybe... look at TRCR, Dalton ran a few IFMAR qual's and people loved them... Gave every one a chance to run there own "qualifier" race and it properly set the grid for the main race of the evening.

Yes tone starts are fun (for some) but it's a gamble. As little as we race I would love to see every one have a great time and put in clean qual's. Yes people would learn but how soon......

Great Idea on the grid. I will cut a nice stencil so we can spray a grid. Also I will pick up a can of yellow paint and spray the timing loop tower. Thats only if the el presidente lets us.

Unfortunately, I will not be running, but if Bill would like to run my WGT, it will be ready and at the hanger today. Or Todd? Jake should also have his together.
