Thank you for your efforts to get your boy out to race with us!
I would say we have Novices on track three nights out of five. I think understandably, it's our one short-term class for racers, so it doesn't have the type of consistency of our regular race classes. People try it, some stick and shortly move on to a race class, and some decide it's not for them and don't come back.
That said, both Kyle and I will ALWAYS run a novice racer, even if just one, on any night he or she shows, whether at the CC or at Hangar 30. We do not just throw novices into a full-speed class.
So, short story, don't think twice about bringing him out. Bring him. He'll run.

Fellas, got a new post up.
I've compiled info and schedules for all major indoor programs (That I can think of) and listed them out in one convenient post. Have a look, and let me know if I missed a program.
Just though it'd be nice to have a central spot for all types of racing in the area. let me know what you think.

On a side note, I won't be able to make the track clean-up tomorrow, but I'll be there for racing for sure. been a long time since I've been racing on the rug!

Hangar 30 Returns!
This is our ninth season since the Seattle RC Racers first formed up, and the Wednesday night program was and remains at the core of our mission to provide accessible, affordable, and fun racing.
Brian and I are ditching work this afternoon and will be getting together at 2pm to refresh the layout and work on some improvements to the infrastructure. Brian has fabricated some new corners, similar to the sweeper at the community center, that will upgrade our overall experience.
With Kyle at IIC, I will take up my old post at the race director's table and kick off the Hangar 30 season in his absence.
The classes on offer are:
Scale Spec
Stock Touring
Stock 1/12th
F1
Novice
We expect to open the track for practice at 5, with Q1 going off at 7. Two qualifiers and a main is the program, then we tear down and tuck away and go to bed with the happy feeling of having gotten away with something rather special in the middle of an otherwise grinding work week.

Looks like Team Lence is a scratch tonight, too many people getting over the cold Hoping to have a great showing at the CC on the 14th and H30 on the 18th.
If I can get the entire team out, our packages this year will look like the following.
Ryan 1/12 Scale 5.0 and 17.5 XRAY X12 2017s one from ebay and one from amain, TC 17.5 ARC R11 2017 bought from Donny last year. He builds great cars I have two of them and they rock.
Maxwell 1/12 Scale 6.5 and 17.5 CRC-XTI-WC, one from CRC and one from Brian B. + Millions of parts that were given to us from Brian and Mike C. (Many thanks for the support)
Mckenna 1/12 Scale Novice or 17.5 by the end of the season. CRC XTI-WC from CRC it was Maxwell's old car
Emma 1/12 Scale Novice XRAY X12 2016 from ebay (Her first year with a fulltime car)
Madison Scale Spec 25.5 Novice ARC R11 2017 from Hobby-Square
Natalee (yes my wife said she would run one race) My XRAY X12 2017 17.5 that I got from ebay.
This brings the total collection to 3 XRAY X12s, 3 CRC XTI-WCs, 2 ARC R11s with the 2017 upgrade kits, and one ARC 11 2017 that is still being worked on from a really bad summer crash. So 8 working cars with one more ready to go if really needed.
All of the ESCs are HobbbyWing but Emma's. For motors, we have a mix of Reedy, Maclan, and Trinity.
Over time I have been trying to get down to just a single 1/12th and TC chassis with a certain brand of Motor, ESC, battery etc.., but with the pace of innovation, this dream will never really happen.
Now, all we need is the track time and we will get to really see some great novice racing + Max and I fighting for the rear.
I blame all this hardware on Todd, Brian, and Stuart for getting me so addicted to on-road. During last season I had a handful of Dirt cars that I was going to Race at TRCR but as my schedule only gets fuller, I had to give something up so I sold the rest of the dirt collection to build-out our on-road weapons.

Good racing last night fellas! Was fun to race at the Hangar again, but man I forgot how intense 17.5 is on that track... My broke-ass car will attest to that.
I apologize for the amateur-hour announcing....

Hangar 30 Wednesday Night Kick Off
We kicked off Hangar 30 last night with a refreshed layout. Brian fabricated some beautiful new sweepers that perfect the concept he whipped up with Clifton last season at the community center. They bring welcome improvement to some key areas of the track, offering both the precision of a hard barrier, but the forgiving character of dots. Truly the best of both. Many thanks to George and Mike Anderson with the build assist. I attach a picture of the results. Come out to race the hangar, you won't be disappointed.
With several of our Wednesday night regulars currently engaged in shenanigans at the IIC, our numbers were low. But rather than get down about it, we plowed through three quals and a main and wrapped up by 10:30. That's getting with it on a Wednesday! And while I expect the absent racers to be back in action in the weeks to come, we also added some new racers in Novice. So, things are looking good.
Gary Lewis kept it real in Scale Spec which had the biggest field for the evening. Both John and Franko brought some heat, but the G-Man stayed cool and set the new track record and took the win after bouncing around the order during the main. In Novice, Ken showed some confident clean laps and to my eye is ready for Scale Spec at any time. In Stock 1/12th, a fired up Bodine showed he is still the boss, and Stuart was all over Stock Touring, though Jesse dug in, found speed, and come the main was able to keep the youngster honest.
We will be back in the gym on the 14th, and the Hangar on the 18th. Until then, NORA is firing up their program this weekend at the Skagit Fairgrounds in Mt. Vernon.
Results attached.
