Headed out to the SIC this weekend for the race. If anyone is going make sure to look me up and chat. If you have any work that you need done I can take it back with me from the race.
This is a awesome event, indoors with a track size about 95x175, usually this is motocross/SX styled with whoops and large flowing jumps and berms. It was introduced many years ago by my late friend Joe Horton. Recently the same guys that put on the Psycho Nitro Blast took it over to build it back up...
It's not to late, hope to see some people show up!

Still made mistakes first two rounds. Was 15th and 17th. Third round I put a solid run in and was top 5. 4th round I was 8th and ended up second in the bmain. Was able to bump. Went over the car for 4 hours and in the main warmup I had pinion bearing failure. It happens sometimes but not happy that it did.
Plan to do some practicing and club racing over the next month and get ready for the psycho nitro blast.

over the past 3 months I have been testing a brand of fuel. during this time I have been looking at engines that have came through the shop and what fuel is used and how the internals look. I can say the quality fuel that you use is very important. several engines are showing up and are not looking very good inside. Ive never tested the fuel so I can only speak for what I see. With that I won't even say the brand name. I would be very alarmed should one of my personal engines opened up to look like what I have seen.
The fuel I have been testing on my personal engines is "Bones" Brew. It has been consistent batch to batch and the engines look awesome when I open it up. It comes in quarts and is also sealed in a bag. The stuff shipped to my door is priced fair. It may not be the cheapest on the market but I actually feel like it's solid fuel.
My point is, don't run something because it's cheap or free. try it out and if it don't deliver move on. When you open up a engine you should not see rust and corrosion. Pretty much your engine should look new with slight coating of oil on the internals.
If things keep going like they have been with this Bones Brew fuel I'll recommend to anyone.
Byron Fuels was always really good in the past and Nitrotane was awesome well, just not as readily available as byrons.

Usually with this service it consist of getting the engine in first. Clean the outside and disassemble the engine. I'll then inspect and clean the internals best possible. Following that I measure the wear points to make sure it can go back together with the same parts. If so I'll do the resize and install new bearings. After so many years with my tooling I have a good idea of whats needed on the resize. This engine turned out nice and will hit the track race ready for this customer at nitro challenge.

In one of the pic you showed had a car with
Yellow shock towers. Was that painted or powder coated? Look cool

Hey Allan.....just ran across this thread, good to see you back in the RC action! Maybe I'll see you at the AMS this year if they have me back. Hell...maybe I'll bury the hatchet and stop in for a visit at the PNB!![Laughing](https://www.rctech.net/forum/classic_images/smilies/laugh2.gif)
