ROAR to ban 1/8th style 1/10th buggy tyres
U.S. RC car governing body ROAR have announced the ban of the latest breed of 1/10th buggy wheels and tyres such as AKA’s Evo and Pro-Line’s VTR range for ROAR sanctioned events in 2014. It is understood that said wheels and tyres, that adapt the tyre bead design of 1/8th buggy wheels, do not meet with the wheel and tyre dimensions allowed by the ROAR as the AKA Evo and Pro-Line VTR are in fact 2.4 inch offerings while the ROAR and virtually every other governing body only allows 2.2 inch wheels and tyres. Even the use of so called adapter kits are disallowed as they are seen as (illegal) modification to the wheel. The current ban so far only affects 2014 events and there is a chance that the new style wheels and tyres will be allowed to use from 2015 on.

Hey gang just an idea , I Talked to Dustin the other night . About running a SPEC 13.5 Class in Buggy & Corr Truck !! Simply We use the Locked Speed passion 13.5 Motor speedo combo . And in Buggy we have a Spec Tire so we are all the same . The cost of the speedo combo is really cheap ,its' less than 90 dollars and tires are gonna be Barcodes ver 2 ! I think this will help clear out the 17.5 class and give us guys seat time to move up to Mod Class ! It's really frustrating trying to run 17.5 and keep from getting Hacked all the time . It's just an idea im in if we can get At least 5 more people to commit ! Thanks and i can't wait for the 14 -15 seasn at JAKES !!!!!

I'm sure the hackers will end up in about every class. It don't letter how slow or how fast you make a class, the hackers will drive horrible anyways. I'm am in no way criticisizing Jakes in any way, I have raced in KC and its the same way. Hackers should have their own class plain and simple ( novice) !

I will be running @'Jakes this year too, just have to drive with patients that's all. Ready to do some offroading, will be interesting for me anyways, been running on flat ground too long. All hell will break loose when I hit the jumps. LOL!

Even when Jakes gets a good crowd, most classes dont go past a b main... Adding another class would water down the classes even more, and possibly cause another 30-45 min to the race program... If you want to run something a bit quiker than 17.5, just join the mod class. Most of us run no more than a 13.5 anyway, or a boosted 17.5.... As far as the "hackers" ... Just another reason to join mod ![Wink](https://www.rctech.net/forum/classic_images/smilies/wink.gif)
I was reading a discussion the other day about the new cheater stock motors that are hitting the market, and a guy there made an excellent point in my eyes (coming from 1/8 scale).... He stated with the technology of todays brushless systems the whole stock/mod thing is really a thing of the past, and in his opinion (mine to) classes should be split into sportsman, and pro classes, with no motor/esc limits... Doing this would squash all the cheater rumers everywhere, because just like Iin nitro racing everybody runs a .21 engine and are allowed to modify that engine in any way they please, regardless if they are running sportsman, open, or pro classes. Its more about driving and car setup skill
