Im 100% in favor of 5min quals over dropping a round...

Like Dustin said, I know some do not care for the more aggressive/pushed race program, and are more in favor of the "laid back take as much time as you need, we'll wait" approach... But the more and more entries we continue to gain, that laid back approach starts to become a real issue for others and the late night it creates... I think Dustin is on the right track with begining to get jakes racers more accustom to a faster pace, and being prepared for their race before the heat they're in is on the track running practice laps

I voted for the 5min qualifiers. We ran 2 qualifiers at Dee's one season. It just didn't seem like we got enough racing in for the day. I'm only running 1 class for now but I thought everything went smooth last night.

Rickie,Lorne and AP did a great job announcing too.

I can't thank the guys who helped me out enough, I probably should only be running 1 class, and may take some time off from the 4wd every now and then. So far nobody has voted to cut the qual's down, so it clear how the majority stands on the issue. We may cut the races down to 5 this coming Saturday depending on turnout.

Don't forget this Wednesday only a few days away we are racing @ 6PM for our Pre Thanksgiving Day event..

Ya, definitely 5 minutes. 2 qualifiers is a bad trend. Shawnee is doing that now. I can see 2 quals if it is like 10 bucks, but for 15 it definitely needs to be 3. Wednesday nights or week nights 2 quals are fine.

5 min quals

time for a break

sorry porter i just meant time for ME to take a break after sat night ... rather frazzled is all

ya 20-30 is plenty ... ya 1 class is almost boring so i'm doing 3 which is almost pushing it but not too bad ... the larger turnouts makes it nice which is awesome!!!

Plus they're track could use a little make over. IMO...

As long as the 20-30min break is actually 20-30min.... Most 20-30min breaks at Jakes in the past ended up being 1hr long breaks or longer, cause we get to concentrating on something else, loose track of time and forget to get the races started back up until somebody finally asks if we are going to get started or not....

Imo if people dont feel they have enough time to socialize, or wrench then try and cut back on the amount of classes they're running.... Hell I almost got bored sat night only running one class, cause I ended up with so much time between rounds. And that was with me making changes to my car after every round

i am in favor of the 5 minute qualifiers and 6 minute mains. I run 4 classes and help others and help out Dustin with the races. I agree the nights can get long if we do not police the times.

And to the the point of the 20 minute breaks between the 3rd round and mains is good. Gives a few minutes to set the final tweeks to your car.

I enjoy helping out everyone and hanging out with the group that comes to Jakes.

Lets all keep the program growing and adjust as we need to keep the program moving forward.

No Comment. LOL

But really, I drove a few laps at Shawnee Sat night after the races. Actually the layout isn't horrible. Not as good as it could be but probably as good as it can be given the current scenario...

Sorry to hijack... Carry on.

I cant thank everyone enough aswell with all the help! I wish I could sit down and hangout more...seem to always have something to do..slingin parts, track prep racing in 3 classes and marshaling. Not complaining at all. I do appreciate every ones feedback with the race program and track builds pros and cons......I've learned a lot and I am still learning with layouts! The most difficult part is designing a track that is fun fast balanced and technical all at the same time...also trying to make it fun for Stock CORR all the way to the super fast 4wheelers!

We only have 2 more weeks on this CROSSOVER!! We will be bringing you an entirely new layout for the BIG SANTA SHOOTOUT!!!

I'm curious as to what weight shock oil other drivers are using in their 2WD Buggies. As the temps drop at the track, I keep feeling like I need to drop the weight of my shock oil to keep them responsive. Have a great Thanksgiving!

I'm running 30/27.5, and have not lowered my oil's for temp, but this is a tough question to give a general answer on as there are too many variables. what car are you running, and what pistons ?
