I still think stock should be 17.5 no boost, but do agree with bondo that spec motors are bogus

im really not sure where the spec motor came about either but since its on the chopping board ( and im just sitting here watching it rain) ill express my opinion.

what about the guys who potentially want to make the trip to jakes from other tracks like Hutch, LetKo, Fastlane.. where ever and want to run stock buggy.. are they supposed to buy one of these spec motors just to run at our track?

if theres enough interest in running spec i say run'em but we'd have to have a stock class as well

Well I know I don't make it to Jake's as much as I liked to, and with this year I'm trying to go back to school I'll try to make it as much as possible. What I would like to know is how many people are keeping their stadium trucks and plan on running mod truck? I really enjoyed running that class last year and can't wait to get back and run some more.

Spec motors like they do @ onroad isn't going to happen @ jakes, it requires more work selling, teching etc that I don't want to do.. 17.5 no boost is stock, any motor is my vote...

All is good. It was just food for thought.

I'm down for whatever. I have a ROAR approved 13.5 and 17.5 sitting here. I'm in for whatever you guys decide.

I'm in for 17.5 no-boost 2wd buggy and whatever motor. So far I'm planning on using a 17.5 spec motor from on-road

I'll be running stadium truck again this year, but it may not be right at first. I'm trying to unload my RT5 for a FT T4.1.

Can you say p a r a c h u t e?
Thats what short course needed- a way to get MORE air into the body

ROAR rules are written by a committee and updated yearly. If they are followed by everyone, you can race anywhere and not have a problem being legal.

Alternatively, you can have your own ruleset, like onroad around here, and have a group of people that can't even recite that rules, or allow people from out of town into the race because they don't have a spec motor or they didn't know timing wasn't allowed, or something dumb. Ask them where you can read about the rules too

Follow the ROAR rules and have fun racing.

17.5 blinky is some of the closest and best racing I have seen at Jakes and other places. Even in open corr, 17.5 is more drivable and will often out qualify/win those with anything more.

so yeah, run whatcha brung! (ROAR legal)
