Not really a math question at all, though I am competent at it, so the insult was uncalled for.

Kuffs, I like your enthusiasm bro, but your making the points thing way to complicated.
50% of Jakes crowd could seriously give a crap less how many points they get per night. they just want to race. Most of you probably have a list in your head already of who's the fastest drivers at Jakes and don't need a number to prove that you're right.
This issue should be at the discretion of now AP, since he's the one thats going to be keeping track of all this. AP' been around long enough and seen many points systems and knows what works. If done properly the system used this year works great and keeps things very close for everybody.

Is it not self-evident that the more separation you create in the points, the faster you put people out of the running for the top three spots? To put it a different way, the more points separation, the less difference in points there is between last place and not showing up at all.

This is why there needs to be more throw outs, if the curent system is used (but only 3 at most). You guys can't expect to show up for say 3 out of 10 races and still be able to be on top of the points standing. I mean if that's your thinking you guys are nuts, and just need to drop your arguement now ![Wink](https://www.rctech.net/forum/classic_images/smilies/wink.gif)

Maybe you guys could give out perfect attendance awards.
We've been trying something different at Manhattan, we don't use points at all. We don't have big turnouts, but everyone seems to get along alot better.
And, we all still know who we think is fastest.
I know if I were a serious racer, I would want the points to represent how well I race. I like the idea of a non-linear scoring system, I'm suprised that's not the "standard". And I will never understand 3 qualifiers, but I might if I ever raced for "real".
