Hello everyone, my name is Vince and I am from Chicago, IL. Yes I know this is a thread for a track in Topeka KS but I am trying to get information of Jake's RC Pro Am. My cousins live in Melvern KS, about 35 min south of Topeka, and I am usually out in Melvern every summer for farm work, community work, ect. Also I am huge electric RC enthusist racing T4s, B4s, Clodbusters, and finally I just purchased a Slash. I see there is a video on YouTube of Jakes RC Pro Am of what look to be buggies. I am just trying to get some information of what classes are run, what the dirt is like, what the schedule looks like for the next coming months, etc, so when I come out that way to Melvern, I can race on the weekends! Hope to hear from you guys. Thanks.
Vince

Hi Vince - Here's most of what you should need to know I think....
Jake's R/C Pro Am is located at 1212 S. Kansas Ave in downtown Topeka. Races are Sat's. Doors open at 2:00, racing at 7:00. The "stock" classes are actually Super Stock, running 13.5's. Stock/Mod buggy, stock/mod truck, Mod 4WD, Stock spec slash class, and novice. We haven't had anyone want to run stock truck yet. The dirt is clay and we generally run slicks or pink tapers. This week was unusual as it was a fresh rebuild and we ran holeshots/x-3000's and ribber fronts. This should be the sched. for the foreseeable future.

Yeah inferior.
I have always loved Tekin's stuff. I still have a couple of BC112A's, a DIS350 digital discharger, their dyno, a P12 ESC, a G-2 and a G12cIII. I would still be using this stuff if it wasn't for lipo and brushless. Tekin has always made some of the best, most innovative products. You know that!

Thanks for the Info! My Aunt's birthday is in March, I'm debating wether or not to take a ride for the weekend all the way from Chicago, be with her on her birthday...then when Saturday night comes, off to the races. At Jake's are you guys planning on still running during the summer? For instance I know some off-road tracks during the summer setup a dirt oval.

I wasn't pointing anything particular out. I was just saying if you can run with the big dogs then bring the big dog motor because 13.5 was established to give the mod guys a clear track. Ben couldn't run last week because everyone went 13.5. That kinda sucks because he doesn't get to run every Saturday like a lot of us do. In fact, that was probably his last chance for he is working Saturdays with his new job. I just don't want to see the mod class die. I'll sign up for mod if that's what it takes. I think I can give a good performance now that we got my throttle on my radio figured out.
I would hope for a 13.5 truck class to clear the track for mod trucks in the same way. We just haven't evolved to that yet but I have a feeling it's coming. Also, anytime you Slashguys want to go 13.5 or mod, let us know.
