Oh hello Angry MrSquirrel...

Yes, those are the Tamiya gold shocks.It's the smoothest,reliable shock I had used.A bit pricy but it's worth it.Very consistent in the construction and the bladder in the shock never leaks on me.Use a bit of slime green on the O rings and it sealed performance for a long time.Catch u later dude.

I am looking for a good outdoor asphalt setup for a race coming up in September. I will be running modified with Sorex tires.
What is a good base setup? Weight of oil (standard shocks), springs, swaybars?, shock position on arm and shock tower, ride height, droop, fornt one way or diff?

We have never raced on this parking lot before, so I will say it will probably be a medium grip track.

Also what insert(s) do you recommend running in the Sorex tire?
I will probably run the 32R's.

I will also post some pics of my 6.0Pro later!

Hello Che,

Here some tips on the set up for a semi high traction pavment.
Springs.Kyosho yellow frt.
" .Kyosho Green rr.
Oil.Associated.40 frt and 30 in the rear.
Piston # .@hole frt and rr.
Shock type.6.0 shock.
Tires Sorex 32 or 28 with Hpi green inserts.0mm offset wheels.
Frt one ways.(used)
No sway bars.
2mm drop.frt and rear.
Ride height.4.5mm
Mod motor 6x2 Phantom.
Frt shock tower from inside out.#2 hole.
Rear shock tower from inside out.#3 hole.
Esc.Cyclone TC.Custom 4 program.(pit wizard) F...ast.
Body Andy Stratus.
Servo any similar type to Fut.3003.Didn't need fast servos at all.Makes driving much easier..

I hope this is good for you.Let us know if it works for you.Still got lots more set ups to go by.

I'm thinking about getting one of these cars. What spare parts should I buy with the car? Arms, hubs, belts, others ......

I'm going to race the car in Stock class. Is this car suited for stock racing or is it better for mod?

Hello Racer Tex,

Running stock is a great starting point.The 6.0 off from the box is great starting point.You not need any replacement parts depending on your skills.For starters you might want drive the car first and find out how you like it.It does comes with a one way frt diff so no 4x4 braking.If you drive most of the time 4x4,you may want to pick up another ball diff for the frt until you are ready for more speed with the one ways.PArts should not be a problem with the hobby store.Check with them before purchasing the car.Until then good luck .

Thanks for the comments. I currently drive a FT TC3 and a WE MR4 TC. I'm used to one-ways as I have them on both my cars. My local hobby shops don't carry the 7Even so I'll be buying my car and parts from Speedtech. I see that people are using different shocks and springs from other mfgs. Does RCLabs not give a very good compliment of tuning springs or good shocks? Should I go ahead and look for some TC3 threaded shocks?

Hello Rex,

The shocks that comes with the kit is nicely done.It's reliable and smooth.Too bad it's not threaded like the TC3 FT kit.Rclab presently haven't develop any new springs for tuning.They know of the variety we racers can get in the market and probably thats why they haven't got their own.Maybe soon.They do have the sway bar kit as an option.If you have extra TC3 FT shocks use them,as you have all the tuning springs needed.I have seen racers and myself tried it.It works well.All manufacture shocks are built well unless it is built wrongly or abused.Since you have run these machines with one ways,the 7even 6.0 will be a fast machine for you.I have comments from die hard TC3 drivers going to 7even cars and finding them very fast.So there you go...hope this will help on your decision and SpeedTech(Steve) is a great guy to deal with.He has most of the parts there and they will help you out getting you dial in for a new car.As for set ups ...lots for you to choose from.I'll be here most of the time or you may e-mail me for hints.
