Hey,

Anyone got a setup they could post for low-medium traction carpet track w/rubber tires (CS-22/27)? I already d/led the ones off HPI and got one of the local fast guy's setups, just curious to see what others are running

Default Question about the Pro4...

does the front imput shaft on a Pro 4 move in a crash? Seems to be a problem with my TC4 in a hard impact. Is this car good for carpet racing? I read mixed reviews about it. I'm also thinking of a BMI chassis to go with it.

i race carpet and have a bmi. This car works just fine for me. It all depends really on what you prefer. I like the 3mm lower deck and the thickness of the upper deck...less flex.

I just started running rubber tires, CS-22's so far. I looked at the setup's on the HPI site also. I've been running something close to Moore's Cleveland setup with foam tires. I just changed my springs to 19.5 lbs (Assoc. Gold) rear with #2 piston and 50 wt. oil. 22 lbs (Assoc. Red) front springs with #2 pistons and 70wt. oil and the car was pretty close. Actually really close, as my lap times were only about .2 tenths off foam time laps times. Hopefully the next week or I can get it a little closer.

The thing I noticed on the DHI and other setup on the HPI site was in one race they ran a one-way and the other a spool I tried a one-way. Not good for me, probably because I'm to use to throwing the car into the corner with foam tires on it. I have not tried a spool yet.

take care
john

Im not sure how exactly to set it up but i know it can be done. One of the guys i race with has the 3mm BMI chassis on his PRO4 and his car is a lot faster than mine. Any when he used to run a stock hpi chassis it was a lot easier for me to keep up with him.

Can someone point me to the page # (from this PRO 4 thread) pertaining to the HPI springs rate in LBS/Inch rate......I knew someone listed that more then 1 times, but with 300 something pages to search.....it is almost impossible for me to do it with very limited computer knowledge....

I do not have HPI springs set, but do have AE and LOSI springs set, just want to get some reference....thanks.
