Saw the pics of Haras car at the worlds and noticed he had a lexan type cooling duct attached to the chassis for the motor, built one myslef to test and found the endbell was certainly cooler than the rest of the can, just been looking at other pics of yokomos cars that also had the same air duct/scoop on them, does anyone know if they are available to buy anywhere ?? theres only so much you can do with the left over lexan from a bodyshell...

I am confused

Is the pro 4 a reliable car or not ?

I have just switched over to the pro 4 from an x-ray and have been doing alot of reading through these posts, some people are saying that this car is rock solid while others go on about howm many things have been bent or broken.

I just hope that i have made the right move to hpi...

Sweet, you sure did. The Pro 4 is solid. At the worlds, 3 of the top 10 cars are Pro 4's. Ask all the questions you want. We all will help out.

While both are really good cars, my opinion is that you took a step down changing from an Xray to HPI. Sort of like going from a Cadillac to a Buick.

One question i do have....

I have had to use 48p gearing due to running out doors and simply wanting to know what is the largest 48p spur that will hapily run on the pro4 or who out there is running 48p and what do you use ?

Unfortunately 64p does not last long on out track due to really fine crud getting in there and destroying them.

Going from X-ray to HPI is like going from a Porsche 911GT2 to a HKS Nissan Skyline. People all respect the 911 b/c it is expensive and has alot of tradition with the Porsche name, but it;s not going to beat the Skyline.

is it better then this car or that....you would get possibly 10 answers if you asked 10 people....unless they owned a pro4!

Just make sure you get the V1.1 gears and the BRP front bumper and duribility isn't a big concern. Other obvious things are like springs and swaybars.

are the parts tight on the hinge pins or is everything sloppy and needs to be shimmed up like a TC4?

The bearing size in the rear hub is 5 x 10 x 4mm, the same size as the front knuckles and the bearings for the layshafts.
