I thought my car ran great at Motorama for it's first outing. I ran the predominantly the stock setup with the battery in the back position, 30 wt. in the rear, and 37.5 wt. in the front. I found this pic on the internet of my buggy at Motorama. I got it built in time and didn't even get a chance to get a body painted.

Huh...I just looked and they're different (from the 3.0 to 4.0). I just figured they were the same gearboxes. Not sure if the difference something small or big.

Here is Dustin Evans building 22 shocks, the procedure is pretty similar to the 8ight 4.0 shocks, don't worry about getting zero rebound though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvwmH-Rfwik
Yea I wont be taking cutters to my shafts lmao.

I put a 4mm file in a dremel and ran it through about 20 times. It doesn't take much material off at all just enough! She's free as can be now but there's no slop in the pins. I believe I was over tightening the set screws on the pins as well.

If you don't want to spend the money on an arm reamer. You can pick up a 4mm chainsaw file at lowes or home depot.

Tommygun1,

Do you see any physical differences?

Looking in the 8ight-E 4.0 manual, and it says the diff cases (set for front and rear) is TLR242013.

Taking that part number onto Amain.com, it says the part was added June 24, 2014, so it's been around well before the 4.0 line.

Amain site just says that these are molded to a stiffer material, so I am guessing this was a running change or option for 3.0's and previous models, and is OEM now for the 4.0 stuff.

Yeah, I had to look into it - I am hoping to upgrade my 3.0 to a 4.0 - already got the new chassis, shock caps, and driveline stuff. Just trying to see what else is needed.

Did anyone catch that youtube shock build video on the last page? I didn't know RC How-To Video comedies existed! His line at the 4.00 minute mark had me rolling!
