Go slow.... I stripped one screw and those E or C clips are so small and like to fly. Look at the parts blow up to see better detail in the build process. The TLR manual has a lot to be desired if you never built a XX4 other wise its like its older brother. Just jacked up on Roids. So glad its here.... bad news for me my saddle pack went bad and will not charge I need saddles. Paint going on this week No hurry, build it right the first time.

The build was pretty straight forward. Not much more complex than a 2wd buggy.
Here are a couple of tips from my experience with the build:
1) Step E-3 - the shim inserts should have both arrows pointing to the center of the car
2) Step E-4 - the M3x10mm screws should be flat head, not button head
Some things I am struggling with:
1) How to set gear mesh - a) if you use the paper in the gears method, there is not enough room to slide a piece of paper in there, b) if you set it visually by moving the gears to check the clearance, it is hard to get in there to move the gears to check.
2) Where to run the ESC-to-Receiver wire
3) Without an exposed spur gear, what is the best way to adjust and check the diffs and slipper

Got mine yesterday around noon. After getting it built i couldn't get the ride height in the front up to 22mm. So i tried front springs from my 22 SCT and they look like they will work good. The adjuster is about half way on the threads. Does anyone know if they will act different then a buggy spring?
I've heard that they "feel" different, but i have not tried.

Yes two sets of rims, one white pair and one yellow pair. I thought this build went together super easy and only took about 4-5 hrs total. Has anyone else tried to access the slipper/spur assembly after the car has been completely built? When I went to take the slipper/spur gear back out of the car, it was a pain in the butt. Maybe I wasn't doing this right but it took like 15mins just to get this thing taken back out of the car. Anyone else have this issue or know of a faster way?

Anyone figure out how to change from clicker to full time without taking the front belt cover off?
