I think you can set it to always on but I would let the ESC switch it on when it gets over 135° or whatever the trigger temp is.
I have always had the fan on my gen1, no reason not to in my mind.

In regards to weight, I think the 4 screws probably weigh as much as the fan itself so I use two. Would like to find ALU screws for it but i think their an odd size or pitch... haven't put much effort into it but its on my list.
I agree , on my EB48 I can run without a fan (the ESC does get pretty hot but doesnt thermal) but on the SCT410 I will thermal after a few minutes ....

I just joined the family... I spent all night putting it together and now need the setup secrets. The local track is more technical than open so I tried to set it up for handling in the corners.

Any tips?

yeah jeff!!! the tekno is awesome! you're going to love it. if you ever want to try out different springs, let me know.

box stock setup, then tune from there is good. i'm on matt wolter's setup with some adjustments (maizer's spring setup, and just installed the 8x 1.3mm pistons to reduce nose dive). good indoors, decent outdoors.

Only changes I made from stock to get cornering better was to limit down travel a bit, lay down the rear shocks, and I changed the oils to 10-7-5. Truck is awesome!

Can someone do me a favor?

Will you measure the length of the outer rear hinge pin, total length and inner length with out the threads.

Thanks

Is that really all you need to get the buggy that really is a complete buggy and not just a freak looking DIY job?

What about body mounts?

Anyone got pics of how the conversion looks?
Is it as strong as the original buggy?

The wing mount parts bag comes with body mounts at least purchased separately.
Is it strong?, I would say yes but in my industry there is a saying, light, cheap, strong- pick two. I'm sure you will start bending driveshafts if you install a high KV 1/8 motor but if used as intended on an indoor or small outside track it will be quite durable.

Yes that's all you need plus buggy wheels. and body mounts are included and pictured. As strong as original? It's basically an sct410 w buggy wheels, body, and wing so I'm sure it's strong but the article really makes a point to say "small, technical indoor racing" but I drive an sct410 on a large 1/8 track no problem but the longer hex adapter are prob the weakest link if there is one.

You can make just about any horn work, the lower profile it is the better it is. Just add the correct amount of spacers on the bellcrank side to get the link to sit level and you are good to go.

My EB48 is butter smooth and can take a 2.5' drop before you hear the chassis slap the ground. It is really good in the bumps and ruts with the CSI V Ports. Any thoughts?

Currently I'm running 22.5wt AE front and 20wt AE rear with the CSI's. The SCT410 has 35wt AE front with 27.5wt AE rear with the 8X1.3's.
I had the same issues with the 8x1.3. I run on some pretty rough out door tracks that blow out pretty bad. I went with the 8x1.4 all around with 40wt AE up front and 35wt AE in the rear. It made both the EB and the sct super plush and still provided enough pack.
