Cain- this is the srt410

we run 5 min quals and mains....capacity should not be a issue, testing will show the run time unless there are fortune tellers on this thread that know how long my 5600's will last

FWIW, I run a HVR 7k mah stick pack in a converted RC8.2 and I ran an 8 min main, with about a minute warm up, then after the race I let it cool down about 20 mins and let another guy finish the pack off, he got a little over 5 mins.

So, by that guess-timation I got 14 mins out of my pack.
Thats in a 7lb 10oz truck with a VIper VTX8 esc and RevTech 4800kv motor.

Is it the weight that's making you guys have such low run times I get 13 mins on a 4200mah nanotech shorty in my 5.6lb sc with a savox and 4600kv non sensored tenshock

Default Tekin Pro4 HD

Wow guys, pulled out the Pro4 4000kv and dropped in the 3000 Pro 4 HD on 3S. I was pretty hesitant to give it a try but the 540 is never going back in. Its able to clear jumps I had no hope of making before. Its awesome.

Low kv's and 3s is where its at!
Much less strain on the electrics in general, and plenty of power

I retract my statement that nosediving is a myth!!!!!! I am suffering from it as well now. I had to change my driving style to remain on the gas while jumping, otherwise I get a violent forward pitch that is usually unrecoverable.

I don;t understnad the cause as the EB48 doesn't do it at all.?!?! I tried springs, battery location etc. Still unsure about how to minimize it.

Can't say the same for E-buggy class this week though. What a hack fest...
It was actually worse then SCT this time around.

Chris I feel your pain wrt hacking. It seems like the track owners or announcers can do a better job with laying down some ground rules or protocol for hacking incidents.
yeah we had a good little race going for 3rd untill we cought mr (3 laps down slash ) and he decided he wanted to race for the win and hacked us ever time we got colse to him. i got the smelly end of that stick

This could also be an issue of a heavy trigger finger versus a lighter trigger finger? I have 6500 packs & after a 5 minute qualifier my packs take almost 3000 back in. I haven't run a 7 minute main yet but I don't think it would drain that much more mAh. I'm sure diff set ups, tires & traction play a huge part as well.

I just put a New Tekno 4300 HD in my truck today. Hooked up to a RX8. Its geared at 15t pinion stock spur. On the bench just running it for about 2 mins and on the road for 2 minutes my temps are 150+. It seems unusually hot for any motor to spike that fast. My settings are.

50% current limit
Lowest throttle profile on the RX8.
0 Drag Brake.

I'm actually afraid to put it down on the track... My pro 4 4600, was geared the same and same esc settings and temps barely hit 140..

Anyone else experience hi temps just bench testing? Plus it smells funny, could be that new burning smell, if thats even a thing..

mine is about 150 after 8-10 main with 18t pinion. esc is about 98 or so. my settings are 55 % current limit, 0 timing, 0 drag, c2 throttle profile, 65% brake strength, 10% neutral width.........i assume something is wrong or binding. put it on the track for 5 min and report back. my 4600 was 175+ after 5-8 min....so it doesnt make sense to me, but im very curious to what is causing this

Ive doubled checked. Everything seems free. Plenty of mesh. Put my pro4 in and ran the same test. 110 degrees. 0 timing, default the rest of the stuff. 70% break.

In 10 minutes I will have a video about the issue. Ill have the temp gun on it and show you guys. The motor is not touching anything. Just free spinning and the temps spiked to 150 in 30 seconds or so.

Someone will chime in on gearing, sounds low but bench testing is bad for motors. Street is not a good comparison.

Take it to the track with correct gearing and you should see normal temps.

EDIT:
Just saw above ^
Noooo! Don't do a video of you running your motor up to 150° on the bench!
