Video from A-main Leg 1.

Malin got a 2nd place finish in this first leg of the finals after letting the number 2 car by at 1:26.

A lot of focus on "letting faster drivers by" in qualifiers at the drivers meeting, being a bit inexperienced racing (only been racing for 2 months) and not being used to being the fastest driver out there ended in a bit of a "hasted decision"........but lesson learned

She also set the fastest lap of the day in this final, just 1/10 of a second from the official lap record

Broke my rear axle

First time to the track

Stock plastic hexes
DE Borrego Wheels
Tightened down tight

Oh well. Just got it built and now time to wait and not race it

one thing i did notice is that they protrude past the edge of the wheel. it would be the first thing to come into contact with a wall, pipe, dirt, etc...

(EDIT - it was MY fault, landed off center on the wheel that broke. not saying anything about quality, haha)

I changed the rear diff fluid to 7000 to get more traction on power, I`m now running 10,000/100,000/7,000

If your asking me Cain then I'm running stock pistons. I want to wait until I see how the progressive springs work. They should give much the same effect as having more pack. If not then I'm considering getting the Fioroni pistons. Seems to be a number of good reports on those.

If anybody cares you can use Serpent 811 Titanium shockmounts on the Tekno.

You need their balls too:

PN 600273 X 2 and PN 600282 X 1

Instead of the M3 nut use and M3x8 flathead screw and countersunk washer.

The M4 nut on tower side can be replaced by a low profile nut with lock-tite, the nylon wont grip the tread anyway.

Yea, bad weather down here too. high was only 66! Hate the cold weather. makes my bones ache.

It's supposed to be a high of 76 tomorrow so it should be a good day for practice.

for the guys looking for the axles, besides tekno i found nitrohouse and rcplanet have them. I overnighted a couple from nitrohouse so I could race tomorrow.

I love this truck so much. According to the sheets from friday's a-main, fast lap was 18.0 with an average of mid to high 18's. First time out with the truck with using the Barry Baker setup sheet, could string together some 17.7-17.8's. Can't wait to get this thing dialed!

We have a more "technical" track with not alot of areas for speed except for a 50-70ft straight. I used 5-7-3 instead of the stock 7-5-3 and I really like it.

Has anyone tried using the inner hinge pin holes on the rear hubs? Seems like none of the setups have ever tried it.

I tried to install the air control guards but some of the predrilled holes do not line up. Does anyone know if all holes are supposed to line up? I know it's a dumb question but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Very first page of this thread. You have your left and right nerf bars backwards. One is wider than the other.

There is a left and right one. Also make sure your nerf bars are on the correct side. There is a left and right nerf bar also. You can see on page one there are some good photos of the differences.
Hope that helps

I did a search on this thread about how to get the motor mount to slide freely, but couldn't find what i needed. Anyway, my mount and motor slide are very tight and don't move feely at all when both M4 screws are backed off. Did you guys sand yours? Dremel maybe? I tried lubing it with some trackpower lubricant, but it still is very tight.
