Tekno SCT410 Thread

The plastic shock bottoms can on rare occasions split at the base of the threads. I've owned Teknos for years and this has only happened to me once but it cost my son a race so I figured I would replace them with aluminum. The delrin internals are machined and have a much finer alignment than the stock components. Less play in the shock shaft and better actuation of the shock.

Dang I didn't know the shock bottoms had a aluminum upgrade, what's the part number if you don't mind?

As for the Delrin shock cartridge inserts. They not only are a tighter and more accurate fit like mentioned, but delrin also has some self lubricating tendencies, so they help smooth the shock out too and reduce the resistance in the shock, letting it work more reliably.

Can I run TKR 5263 on a standard 410? I know it comes standard on the 410.3 and I like the idea for serviceability, but didn't know if I need anything special with that.

Yes, it is a drop in replacement when done along with the new motor mount that those mount to (required). TKR5263 is the plastic portion (which can be AL instead, TKR5262) with TKR5260 being the motor mount. If you want the whole thing to be AL then you can get it all together as a single pack and save a bit with TKR5261.

Hey guys, I looked on the front page but didn't see what Pro-Line bodies fit the 410.3 the best. I like the looks of the Flo-Tek Ford but anyone have some advice for me? Thanks!

One thing to mention that I see a lot of people bring up - The front bumper is designed to go under/behind the front of the body, not in front of it. Yes, this is different then the other companies and maybe it doesn't look as scale but it allows the use of a smaller bumper and prevents the body from bending up and getting stuck on the bumper like sometimes happens on other trucks.

Personally I think the J Concepts Illusion Hi Flo bodies are thicker than the proline bodies, ad I use the traxxas white plastic washers to further help with breaking holes in the mounting holes.

I know a lot of people run the EVO body but really, any SC body will fit. Biggest thing I look for now is lack of features around the body mount area (molded in roll bars and things like that) because that means they'll usually last longer. The EVO is great for this because it's just a big flat area in the rear.

I agree with Matthew.
Adding watch where the body posts locate. So many of the bodies have a hood bulge to close to the pins or bars in the back that get in the way.
I had to to redrill the front posts 90 degrees to get the clips on without hitting the hood bulge.

Ok, well thanks for saying that. I second guessed the Ford body and went with the EVO SC. It's supposed to be the best anyway...
