seems like making more trouble for your self by adding extra parts to brake. I have a slightly used lrp 550 4.5 turn motor I will sell ya for 75 bucks shipped anywhere. Its a beast in the truck!! It was 169.99 new! Still have box.

Something strange happened today. After installing a new servo horn. I was run checking the throttle response to make sure all was good. WELL, after hitting the throttle, releasing it and hitting simulating an actual race - I was hearing a noise and a loss of power. At first I thought it was the disc's slipping. I placed a mark on the pinion gear to watch to see if the pinion gear would increase or decrease in speed. I try it again, took a little longer for it to happen again. Turned out the at the motor was breaking up and loosing power.
I am using a Tekin Pro4 4600 motor with a MMP ESC.
I installed the sensor wire and the problem went away. Strange how that fixed the problem. I thought the sensor wire was for low speed rpm's. I guess I was wrong.
Anyone else had this problem? I did not notice this problem at the track last night.

yup, i had it geared 22/56 and it was flying on the street today. i'll probably turn down the timing to save battery and do 20/58 just to be fair. just fantastic. motor temps are way low too, like +50f or so. low temps will come in handy this summer with 98 degree days.

As long as your pinion grub screw is seated 100% on the end of the motor's shaft, you will be fine. The grub screw holds the majority of the torque stress. The difference between having your pinion all the way out (but still having the grub 100% on the shaft) and all the way in is probably less than 5%.

Thanks for the help. I will have to check to see how it is setup. I can understand if it is looking for the sensor harness and it is not there. Strange how this just started to happen.
Can I check this with the hand held programmer from Castle? Or will I need the lap top with the castle program? I have both.
Thanks again
