hmm... I'm going to go and try them all again... I tried them flat against it, not on motor. I'm going to put them on my motor and try getting it through with a different angle.

Thats kinda wierd, my buddy couldnt a 14t into his. Maybe im mistaken again, and a 15t is the smallest that wont fit. Either way, I know my 15t had no hope fitting through.

It would be kinda cool if the ft motor mount, when it is released, if ever, has a larger circle cut in the center of the mount so you can fit a bigger pinion through it. Are you listening AE?

Same here , but the 15t is a no go. 14t and under will fit. This is what is i do . Face the backend of the truck and grab the motor with your left hand , Take your right hand and poke a finger through the opening in the motor plate and get your finger on the end of the pinon to guide it through. Also angle the end of the motor back towards the rear wheels a little. The 14t is a little snug but it definetly goes through. I run a fan on my motor so that makes it a little trickier, it still will fit through.

You can always dremel out the hole a bit to fit a bigger pinion. I run a Tekin 4600, so I don't need anything over a 13T currently. But who knows, with how dialed the truck is, and with our races going to 7 minutes, instead of 10, I am trying a 14T on there.

No a bigger pinion gives more topend and a smaller gives more torque but takes away from the top end.

I am thinking of converting my truck to saddles. Are there any guides out there? My truck is pretty much stock what parts would I need?
Thanks! and yes I have been reading just can remember where this was.

The main problem here would be motor temps. How big is your track? The track I regularly race at is 200ftx75ft, so you can use a lot of horsepower. How long are your mains? Brushless motors always feel to me like they gain bottom and top end when going up in pinion size (although "technically" a larger pinion gives less bottom end and more top end). This probably has to do with the fact that these new motors are like 1.5Hp electric motor, so the extra tooth probably does not even phase the bottom end.

Lately my motor temps have been in the 130's, it has been cool though, so that helps keep it down. The Pro 4 is okay to run all the way to 190 or so, without any damage to the motor. If you want to tame down your bottom end, the best thing to do is turn down your torque (current) limiter in the speedo. I typically run mine around 60-65. This mellows out the bottom end and allows me to use the power better.

Last time I was at the track, there was a kid with a radar gun trapping all the cars on the 150ft straight. My truck was fastest at 36mph. A really fast E-buggy was doing 39. The closest truck was hitting like 30-32. I was running a 13T pinion.

Really! I can just get the 15 through the hole, it's tight, but I like it that way (LOL).
