Anyway, so two weekends of racing? Or two weekends of packs, those could be very different things.

If it's just a couple of packs I'm the type that would just sit there and hammer the thing until it broke in.

That is really odd though that they made that fundamental a mistake.
I had one weekend of practice, and woudnt you know, the diff started locking up during a race weekend
I e-mailed hotracing, but got no reply, so dont count on any customer support from them. Plus, if you look in the first pic, on of the diff halves is missing the groove for the o-ring in it I contacted the seller and he took care of it, thank you Todd at thetoadzrc.
Initially I was dissapointed with them, but all the kinks aside, they work pretty well.

Reworded:
The Vice President of Horizon Hobby stopped by my work on the way through a Northwest visit and really wanted to know why I wasn't a Losi guy seeing as how much I was a Horizon Hobby fan in their Air and Helicopters. I told him It's like Chevy and Ford, or Coke and Pepsi. That I just love my Associated products. His traveling partner that was there kinda nudged me a bit too talking about how i'd be "taken care of."
I'd have infinite support for my Losi 8ight, mini 8ight, 5iveT, SCTE, etc. But ... it's not my RC/SC-8/10. /mindscratcher

No, he did not come to see 'me'. I just ended up in the conversation.

I'm still acquiring all the parts and spares I need for my 8.2's (since these are my primary classes) as well as buying new nitro motors, so hopefully the Income Tax fairy will be nice to me and I'll be able to swing the new SC before Mike's.
I got you covered on parts Jeff for either!!!!

yeah. I can make it do what I want just ticked it takes so many 3rd party parts to do so. Not as kick-rear end as the 8.2

So, has anyone bent a topshaft more than once? What is causing this?

I have one seen someone say they broke one in 2 months. CoyoteSlash, but it looked like his was more of a manufacturing defect, it broke where the threads meet the body of the shaft.

I would say you have a bind somewhere, but you should break a idler or another plastic gear before you should ever bend or break a shaft. Go through your truck and see if you can find anything that looks out of place, ie wear marks.

Spend the money on Mantis new center diff, Coyote's chassis brace, Exotek chassis, or something that will make the truck run better.
The alumium screws can actually be used to remove weight high in the truck and then add more ballast low. I have used the aluminum screws in everything that is above the chassis line. The bottom stays all steel. This will help lower the CG, a little. Everything helps though.

I agree there are areas that are more important to spend money on first, but after your done with the big things you can move on to the smaller areas. Plus I like the way they look.
