SC10 4x4 Thread
I know it needs sway bars i know that is a must.
My RC8Tce doesnt need any upgrades on it than again it comes with it.
garodiscs and sway bars, thats all you need. the rest is about setup and i can help you with that when you get your truck. when you order the Garodisc i will send you a base setup sheet sans oil and piston settings as i have never run the truck with stock single stage pistons but i am sure someone on this thread can tell you what to use.

A Factory Team SC104x4 is not even a concern right now. I think if you're asking for that. you're going to need to wait for the FT Truck. No truck on the market is out of the box like that. Only thing close is a Factory Team Truck. And that's debatable.
The thing is. You will never know how your truck reacts with all the hopups just slapped into the truck. It just 'works'. How the hell do you tune something that all you know is:
"They put it on cause it does good stuff"
How do you know you 'want' those upgrades for your driving style?
I bought my original Slash 4x4 as a box Stock truck. And spent tons of money more upgrading it. Reason why? I wanted to upgrade one piece at a time, Learn how the truck reacted to the upgrade and tune accordingly. Then moved on to the next piece. If I had bought an Ultimate Slash 4x4, I wouldn't have a clue how to tune the Center Diff, sway bars, etc. Because it was done for me. 10cents.
Team Associated are one of the only Companies that produce a Truck, and after a time, bring out a Factory Team Truck that has those tried and true "Race upgrades" in the box. I guess if you're interested in this truck, you're going to be waiting.

Ok thanks thats not bad than im not getting it yet il likely get it in january.
Il still check out the dual shock pistons.
Now if this truck ever broke while racing does it take a long time to take apart or is there a trick to it ?
Nice try T-dawg. But that Truck could use some beadlocks for the power it produces.
And if I was getting testy, It could probably use some shock oil.
(wait... where are the shocks... )
I have a step by step guide on how to do the most difficult part, which is getting to the diffs. I'm sure someone has a quick link. I'm not hunting the pages to find it. The rest is cake. It's AE, man.

That is a Factory Team kit. You're asking for stuff that doesn't exist.

When is the factory team coming out if i can wait ?
There is no talk by AE about it, or even an idea of a date.
I understand where your coming from with this no hopup out of box thing, but you really "really" are limiting your enjoyment of this hobby. I wish ya the best.

Yea i know manthis was just telling me it only needs the sway bars and the upgraded clutch and than the tuning thats not to bad. Well like i was saying before if i was running it as my main class i whould buy the upgrades that arent a must.
Well if they come out with a factory ed i dont see it out during the winter the spring time i can see that dont know if i can wait that long though lol.
Im waiting for my LHS to open there indoor offroad carpet track hopefully next mouth.
First i have to see what everybody is running .

Has this ever been mentioned on here? I don't recall seeing it.
Interesting, if nothing else?
Reflex Racing Sc104x4 option-parts
Anyone know if the Topdeck does it's job?
Topdeck+
Chassis Brace+
Lead= 50.00max = EXOTEK chassis MWHAHAHA

Another cool feature is that you can run an angled rear brace to the top deck, which is really all you need as the front flex is practically eliminated by the deck. The length of the rear rod can also be changed which allows you to tune fore-and-aft flex. The shorter the link, the more rear grip.

Cananyone give some pointers on how to reduce traction roll? Im running on a tight indoor track and am having a problem with traction rolling. Im already running fairly low ride height and have added spacers under my studs but im still rolling. I've got sway bars but don't want to go any stiffer or swap out tires because my truck is loose as it is.
Anyone?

I'm running 30,000 frt and 5,000 rear diff fluids. If I drop to 20,000 or 15,000 in the front will it help with top end speed. The truck handles great now and I almost hate to mess with the set up. The reason I ask is in our race on saturday I TQed and won the main but my buddy with a durango, who was late and missed the quals, had me by 15 to 20 seconds when he hit his lipo cutoff with only about 5 seconds left in the main. He runs a 4.5 trinity and run a 4.5 tekin scx. My truck looks to me like it handles better but he is killing me on power. I'm running 12/62 gears and going to try a 13 later this week, just worried about heat. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
p.s. I raced with the 2 stage pistons and g-discs for the first time on sat. Fast lap was a full second better and top 5 was at least that.

The worst corner is a 180 degree right after a small tabletop. If I try to clear it, coming down the backside of it you have to turn, and i roll. If i roll up over it, i still end up rolling.
For example, I built an RC8Be recently. other than raising the rear links a hole, taking away some front droop and going to the longest wheelbase, it was darn good out of the box.
On the other hand, my SC104x was just a huge POS out of the box. It was a struggle not to give up on it and it's pretty good now.
Just keep things in perspective.
