SC10 4x4 Thread
![Default](https://www.rctech.net/forum/images/icons/icon1.gif)
ran my truck at the local indoor carpet track set for SC racing. it was nice to be able to finally set my suspension so my shocks and sway bars did the work and not the chassis......now to just keep my diff. from leaking . fresh rebuild and they where almost completely empty when I tore them down when I got back. they aren't leaking from the out drives its from the gasket. time to buy new gaskets.. I was also thinking about having a receiver groove milled in and use orings instead of the gasket.

Last I heard, Tower had them listed as receiving the RTRs mid November. So I don't believe they are available yet.

Well I could not pass up the deal on the RX8/Pro 4 combo here that a member had for sale. The motor is a 4600 kv, yes I know it's overkill but I'll turn it down and work around it now. Very smooth compared to my Castle/MMP combo.
It is FAST! And it's current limited at 80% AND turned down on my controller too.
Too bad my diff sounds like a bag of rocks

I don't know if it was blatantly said somewhere in here. But The new rear Topshafts 'are' and I emphasis: "are" coming with about a 1mm drop on that ledge on the shaft thus 'kinda' solving the original Slipper issue.
The Basket's still do their job better than stock, especially with a 550 can.
(you have to set them down and look VERY carefully to notice about a 1mm-2mm difference in height.)

o yea I discovered all the grease in there was gone. That might be part of the problem..
I put 5,000 wt oil in there, I hope this fixes it, what giant biatch to take everything apart. lol
per mantisworks suggestion I put the 3-2 block back in there and running yellow springs up front.
also glued up the proline blockades on the hazard +3mm wheels. Can't wait to try her out tomorrow.

think i will have to agree with another driver at my track (much better than me) in that the chassis brace is not great for tight high traction tracks such as the indoor track i race at (basher's rc in palm beach gardens, FL). it seems i can't carry quite as much speed entering a corner as before without it wanting to roll. it also seems to take longer for the truck to hook up exiting a corner slide.
maybe if i was running the increased offset wheels it would not want to traction roll entering the corners quite as much as it does with the brace on and hook up quicker coming out of the turns?

I'm finally getting used to driving my truck and now I'm noticing the slipper problems, def going to order the basket from mtk,,,I also notice alot of noise when the weight transfers to one side under hard acceleration. It almost sound like a diff problem. Running 30,000wt front and 10,000 rear.

Traxxas Wheel Shims.
I redid both of my Diffs. Full rebuild, and still shimmed them. It totally takes the slop out. (be aware, keep the diff free spinning with a shim, can sometimes be 'too' snug)

The exotech ahassis is awesome. It eliminates all the unwanted torsional chassis flex and gets rid of the excessive longitudinal flex. Once I it took out the old center chassis piece and flexed it, DAMN, softer that a piece of cheese
No longer with the exotech!
For freaks sake, I also cracked my 3rd front bumper last night. First night out on it. I even boiled it for 10 mins to soften it. Oh well. I just ordered the T-Bone-racing bumper.

Well, the hard anno idler gears are officially junk. They looked like swiss cheese, yesturday after tearing my truck apart for the first time in a month.
The hard anno diffs are still working well, and not leaking. But they must be double shimmed under the black side of the diff case, and the stock difpaper gaskets must be used.

Is anyone using a Tekin Pro4 540 with a Novak Havoc Pro SC?
If so, do they play well together? Any gearing advice?
I have that ESC and am trying to pick out a motor this weekend for my new truck.
thanks!
PS: I'm going to get the Novak 4.5 550 if the Tekin is going to be a problem with that esc.
