So after looking at all you goofballs wanting to spend 30.00 on a chassis brace and whatnot, I finally got around to doing one myself.

Money Spent:
Carbon Fiber Rod: 5.49
Threaded stud: 1.49
Traxxas ball links (6): 4.00

Grand total: 10.98

I'll post the done image if anyone cares.

I whipped up a brace a while ago, created quite the stir over at RCshortcourse.....

http://www.rcshortcourse.com/forum/t...sis-brace.html

I noticed a decrease in traction outdoors. I made the brace mainly because I had switched to saddle packs and thus removed the battery hold-down/brace. Mine was solid w/ no front to back play, some are making them w/ a rubber washer to act as a little cushion for some movement.

I've since ditched the saddles and the brace. I like the truck better with the stick pack and ballast.

Although w/ my pinned slipper, I might revist the old carbon brace.

I just got home from the track, put in 4.5 hours and 5 packs! and the BEAST is back!!! 10k in the front solved all of my issues and i took all of the RC shims out front and back, truck turns on a dime and i can throw it anywhere at any angle and drive through it. i also dropped another tenth off of my quick time which was 24.1 i cracked off a 24 flat and the track is in worse shape since the other day and hasnt been watered since the rain last week. so i know with some track maintenence and water i will get into the 23's with ease. i took some video and it is downloading right now on my channel will post the link when it is done. Last event we had the quickest e buggy lap time was 23.8 ( i actualy ran 22.9's today with my e buggy but thats another story!) i am VERY happy with the truck right now and have a HARC race event tomorrow to hopefully showcase it. setup wise i dropped the rear oil to 17.5 front is still 20. when you see how it jumps its crazy! it has more pack than i want but its so fun to drive like it is i didnt want to change it and the track i will be on tomorrow will be smoother and higher grip so it should be a close setup. the V2 HB pistons are going to be the hot setup, im going to change a few more dimensions and try some bigger holes next week.

Racing on a carpet track I split my carbon brace bumping the inside wall which gave me a WFO head on collision with the outside wall.

Only thing that broke was the tube. It does help. I have had some jump face plants without damage so this was a pretty hard smack in the wall.

Damn! Knowing personally how loose and nasty that track is, your sure driving the piss out of it. Are you sure thats an sc10 4x4.... jk. If the track was watered, you'd be in the 23's for sure. I cant wait to try it out with the topshaft pinned Unfortunatly, I did not get me diff case today, so I doubt that i will be abe to make the rce tomorrow

Default SC10 4x4 Carbon Fiber Chassis Brace

Okay. Brace done. 10 minutes. Was measuring more than cutting.

I'll make more if anyone wants one. 15 bucks Shipped? I'm going to use heavier duty ball ends if someone wanted one because I don't want it breaking on you like those little ones may do for me. I just want a weak point on it somewhere seeing as how the threaded shaft goes through the entire outer carbon shaft.

Any pin 2.3mm to 2.8mm.

I used one of these: TRA3739
You can use anything that diameter hardened steel. Just don't use those tiny axle hex pins. Little beef'ier than those.
