I'll let the pictures do the talking:

Edit: I forgot to mention, there is "0" lead or balance weights anywhere.... and the battery is in the mid position.
Will this ever be available?

Exclamation Battery and ESC Area Dimensions

Hoping someone can post the Lipo battery and ESC area dimensions (LxWxH -stock config) in mm on the SC10 4x4 whenever possible. Need to know if the lipo hardcase and 1/8 ESC I just purchased will fit.

Thanks for the quick response.

Not at home so can't measure the esc, but the lipo's I use (Gens Ace) dimensions are:

138 * 46.5 * 25mm

Now with the foam pads on each end its a pretty tight fit, without the pads the longest I'd say you can go is 142-144mm , the width is pretty tight but a 48mm would be pushing it and the height maybe 26-28mm at the most. These are just guess's so don't quote me on it. But the dimensions I posted of the gens ace fit really snug............

4600kv? Is the fan on the rx8 really necessary? I have a 4600 on order and just took my fan off to replace the broken one on my 8th scale.

Yeah, 4600kv. I installed the fan because I use the underbody chassis cover.

I won't get to race it until next Sunday, but running it up and down the street it feels great. My 1410 setup pulled wheelies, but this thing damn near rides one out. I installed a 14t pinion and will adjust from there come race day.

What springs are those on there? What were your temps running the 14T pinion?

I currently run IP LiPos, they slide in pretty hard, 27mm high. You could probably fit up to 30-32mm in there, with some force involved to fit the battery.

Other than that, dimensions are:

145mm long, 50mm wide for the battery tray.

With RX box installed, ESC/Transponder tray is:

105mm long and 50mm wide.

Thank you. Really appreciate it. I won't have issues installing a SP SA Ver2.0 1/8 esc, it will be the battery I purchased (GENS ACE 5000mah 3S1P 11.1V 40C hard case Lipo; Size: 138L * 46.5W * 38.9H mm). Can' t run a 2 cell lipo with the esc, thus the reason for 3 cell (4 cell definitely out of the picture).

Don't have the truck yet and was in the process of first getting the electronics needed when I do.

Hope I can make the battery fit.

38mm... That is too high indeed, you'll need to modify the chassis brace (aka dremel it down) to fit the pack... I've tried my best, and I can't fit more than 32mm in there. The battery hits the belt cover :/

Another option is remove the cover, fit the battery, put on the cover, and charge the pack with it mounted on the car.

Don't bother with the battery holding strap.

With the foams properly installed the battery locks itself on the slot, needing no additional support. I don't even run the strap locker.
