I saw that as well. It would be awesome if you could let us all know of the weight difference or advantage you could tell when you get them in!

What size washer(s) did u use?? And, How many?

I will run mine Monday, before I know for sure if I need it. So, if it's slipping too much I will need it?? I would like to just know the measurements the thrust spacer is suppose to be so i can know if I need washers or not.

But, basically i need to know how thick i need to make the thrust spacer/washers??
Fast, wrote 2.90mm, so i guess that is how thick it's suppose to be.?.

Using the trust spacer that came with the kit. I shimed at the slipper plate under the spring. If you try to compress the spring you will notice that it doesn't compress all the way cause the spring retainer washer bottoms out on the shaft. By shimming at the slipper plate it moves the assembly away and the spring can be fully compressed. I used the biggest shim I could get in there while still having space on the plate for the spring to sit in so it didn't move around. The guy I raced with with same truck only reshimed the trust spacer like the guide tells you to and was having trouble glazing slipper pads cause of not being able to get it tight enough still. It's probably a combination of both but I know I'm not glazing pads anymore and it's brought my motor temps down a bit. Will be looking into trust spacer next.

The Castle 1415 is 70mm long. And my Ballistic 550 is 72.1mm... and the Ballistic fits fine. So the CC 1415 should fit, but may need some simple modifications. But note the end of the CC 1415 can is different shaped.

See Ultimate RC video on the Novak 550 fitting instructions.

Main points
-install the motor before you put all the chassis pieces (and the rear transmission to the rear chassis plate) together.
-may need to dremel out part of the rear chassis.

Good luck...

Itll fit, a guy running a.similar truck didnt like it, said it lacked top end speed.but the torque was there. Maybe his gearing was wrong.

I have been running their 4.5 turn large rotor motor for the 4x4SC trucks, its ok. Feels like it has lag though, already did the hi torque slipper pads, and shimmed the spring, picked up the Tekin version to try this week, I'll compare the two on Monday probably.

if i take the motor off the pinion, it rolls nice and smooth for a few feet after a short push.

the truck runs nice now, although it doesn't seem too tight, i just think that with the tensioners set to full tension, it seems wrong to have this.

also i run a tenshock 5200kv 4 pole motor with a sc8 speedy from hobbywing.

thanks guys.

mine did this, was playing around with my brake settings turned up too high, did a front flip on the straight under brake power, then massive drag. Belt half jumped off the gear, so tension was too high as it was on the ridge. Readjusted it and am still running the same belt for now, but I have a spare in the box.

From what I read somewhere, the motor takes a while to turn up to high revs. Kinda like running a heavier flywheel in a car, once the inertia builds up, the torque will be there.

I think the Tekin 4 pole sensor 540 will be the only can I might replace my Castle with.

It will fit, but I would suggest the smaller/higher KV 1410 motor instead. It rips on 2s and stays cool. The 1415 will need to be geared very high or run on 3s to keep up with other motors. I even had guys at my local track asking if I was running a 3s in my rig while using the 1410. Never had an issue with power or speed using this motor. I gear mine at 16/62 and the motor always comes off the track after a 5min heat around 132 degrees. As said by others, the only motor I'll even think about replacing mine with, is possibly the new Tekin 4pole sensored motor that's coming out.

Just won another local club race again today. Still no issues with my truck. It handles great and is so damn durable. I love this thing. I really need some sort of overshield for the chassis though. The fine dirt that gets slung into my chassis is eating up MMP fans left and right. It's gotten to the point where I have to remove the fan and take it apart to clean it and oil it after each heat/main. I see a 55degree difference when the fan is working compared to when it is not. Fan working: come off track at 115degrees. Fan not working: come off track at 170degrees. This is after a 5min heat or main.

You guys racing on high traction surfaces. How big of a difference did you see when you installed a sway bar set.
