While I start the teardown of my truck. Anyone have any ideas on what could of caused me to smoke a 4.5 reedy 550? The truck rolls easily 10ft, with no apparent binding at all.

Speedo is an LRP SXX TC Spec v2 with the new flow lower board.

Im going with a copperhead system, so I probably wont know how to gear it.
Im going with a medium speed copperhead, dont need anything ballistic fast.
Although im bumping up to 50c Lipos. These 25c I have wont be enough power.

I have put in countless hours trying to get mine working the way I want it, bought most of the upgrades. The last thing im trying is making custom brass weights to put in the front and by the slipper trying to get it to calm down and drive more consistent and if it doesnt help I dont know tekno looks mighty good to me right now.
Actually there is one, it isn't technically out door but it is as close as you can get when you look at videos. It was Max Flueur's setup for the Psycho Nitro Blast from last year. A hugh layout that got rough and had big jumps. By the way he TQ'd and Won SC4x4 with his SC104x4.

Anyway, I've been toying with selling mine and going with something else but I realized, it won't matter. My driving skills are not good enough to beat the top 4 or 5 at the track when they are on their game, no matter what I'm driving. So, I will stick with my SC10 4x4 and have fun. If it was all about winning I would have quit long ago.

Me personally, I don't have a problem losing if my skills are not up to the task.

I have a problem if I find that I am fighting the car as the reason versus my skills.

Luckily there are a good set of hopups that help, I just wished that AE was more dedicated to the car as appearances just doesn't give me that feeling I get with other AE cars. But it is what it is.

I have my brother's FT SC10 4x4 that I'm trying to sell for him. He ran about half a pack through it and we started hearing clicking from the rear diff. When we pulled the truck we found the rear diff gears are stripped. He doesn't have the time (or patience) to pull it apart and see what it needs. I'm not real familiar with this truck but doing some quick searching I see there are updated diff shims available. It also has the shock boots off so maybe it has too much up-travel? If anyone is interested please pm me with an offer. Thanks

just an fyi since you posted about it on the thread.

New, the truck is $300 or $310 shipped new from tower with the member coupon ($310 if you sign up for membership).

figure $13 for the gear diff rebuild.

figure $20 - $25 for the body since it isn't included.

At a new price, probably down to $260 - $270 range, all brand new.

Used ... SC10 4x4s are not really holding price, you much be lucky to get about $225 in its condition shipped. My feeling from what I have seen, probably less, possibly significantly less than what you want.

WC, I got the flow installed, but pull the trigger and it's rolling backward. switch in the radio, doesn't work. Checked instructions no where does it has rev switch in the program.

Other than they won't wear out like the bronze ones, how so?

Are they better in another way?

Could be that your gear mesh was set too tight.

Were you running a fan? I find that if I am driving my truck with my tekin 5.5 550 longer than an 8 min. main the fan is necessary. Running my 1410, I can run all day back to back packs. Were you running timing/boost on the esc?
