Odd, I haven't had that problem at all on this truck...about 20 packs in, many times I've had the right rear wheel off so that I could re-gear/re-mesh/adjust slipper and belt tension....never had the pin even wiggle loose...

I've seen some trucks put a small spring inside the diff outdrives to keep some tension pushing the CVD outwards... I even used a small piece of fuel tubing on my rally car to keep the bones from popping out...

Whos running their sc10 with the castle sct esc (not the mmp, just to clarify), I remember reading it will work if you place it up high or add vents to the body.... I was just wondering for those running this esc what are your temps on the esc say after a 10-15 min run? Thanks

I am running a Gens Ace 5000/50c with an RX8 and 1410. Also using the RX box with a SR3100 spektrum rx.
Did a little research and found that the SC10 ESC is 88g and the RX8 is at 76g. There is also a 10g difference between the Gens Ace 40c and 50c lipos.
I will test with 2oz or 2.25oz and see how it goes.

It works fine if you add the fan. So instead of putting the fan in the motor, just put it on the ESC. Mine comes down at 120' with the fan. Without the fan, it hits high temp cutoff.

I'm running mine 32P with 16T pinion.

Maybe using the Tekno Hex upgrade will fix this?
Everytime I took the wheels out - the stock plastic wheel hexes would come out. You would have to snap it back in so that the CVD pins would not fall out.

After upgrading to the Tekno Alu Hex - the hex would now stay put and I would not have to worry about the hex loosening up causing the pins to fall out.

I always hated plastic wheel hexes anyway - I always upgraded to aluminum clamping hex's on all of my rigs (if available).

Hey Francios, I'll be at Mikes on friday and plan on racing. Are you gonna be racing too? Are you starting to get it dialed in?

This is a real design flaw. Use some Shoe Goo. After you put the pins in use a little dab on either end to kind of seal the ends. Also, put some on your hex pins before popping the hexes on After doing this and running dirt a few times everything seems nice and "sticky".

I'd be interested to know what either people are doing with their slippers? How tight or loose or you running them?

Default 32P vs 48P with RX8 and 1410

Comparing 16/62 32P and 24/93 48P (both with 9.95 FDR).
Which would perform better -32P or 48P?
Or would they be exactly the same in speed, bottom end, run time, etc?
What would be the advantage and disadvantage with either setup?

JS if they are the same FDR why would one be better than the other?

I'm thinking that the 32P will be stronger and louder while the 48P would be quieter with more gearing options.
Curious if there are any other differences.

32p will be stronger, not sure about louder cause they are plastic gears.

If its the same gear ratio pinion to spur, one will not outperform the other. They are equal.

Does anyone know why AE site doesn't list the Rear Sway Bar anymore?

I see there is a pic of the from Bars.

I just ran my Sidewinder SCT/1410, 3800KV combo yesterday and was really pleased with it! Mounted as per kit instructions with the included fan ON THE ESC. I didn't have a temp gun with me but my reasonably well-calibrated finger suggested it never went over about 100-120 degrees. This was with 15/62 gearing. So far I'm really impressed for <$100!

Cheers,
Mike
