Most are running 4000 indoors and running a 4600 or a 4.5 550 outdoors. Might get the 4000 and 4600 and just try the 4600 indoor if its to much ill have the 4000 to put in it. I have my soldering station with me at all time.

Yeah, but "most" are not running a 4 pole 4600kv 550 right? Their running 2 pole.

4 pole is a different animal. Tons of torque so you won't find yourself needing to gear down for indoor like "most"

To do the front springs in the rear, do you need anything besides the front springs to do it? Do I just turn down the shock collar until the springs fit good or do I leave the shock collar where it normally is and put clips on the shock body under the shock collar?

Shock limiting clips under the spring seat and adjust collar for ride height. Fewer clips the better, but clip as needed to give you some range of adjustment.

Default diff shimming

I've read quite a bit about diff shimming and think get the idea. My only question is it for diffs that actually miss the gear teeth and slip, or is it also recommended for wobbly out drives? I've never had a issue with my diffs accept some play in out drives which isn't really an issue unless your o.c.d. like myself!

Most of the wobble comes from the large .2 shim under the sun gear.

You will find yours have been bent or coned and are no longer flat .


Solution is simple


*ditch the smaller .2 shims on the out drives

*add on top of the your old .2 shim
another brand new .2 shim, then assemble the gears ....

Most of the wobble will go away. The extra shim will be stronger & not cone out as easily..

For those running on Carpet, are you using the 8mm mod or at least tried it? If so, how did it work out for you?

I race on carpet every month and love the truck on it, before ,the truck was super fast but had to really finess the turn entrance, with the 8mm mod I found you can be more agressive without traction rolling.

Thanks, what were you running for inner ball stud shims on the rear?

Do you have a setup you can post?

Thanks. prior to using the mod, how did the vehicle feel around the track (assuming you had good amount of shims on the rear already).
