you could use a piece of an outerwear filter cover ive used this before on overtrays i cut out air holes and glue the outerwear on the inside still allows air flow but cuts the dust by 90 percent. and they are available in all colors. you could probably pick up a universal size one from an atv or motorcycle shop and cut it to fit however you need it to

I had to same problem!! With the same battery... I ended up getting rid of that battery I had to take the belt cover off the get the battery to fit, I wound up getting the Reedy and that one fits obviously...

I asked before ,is there any advantage running a 540 instead of a 550? i know 550 have more torque and run alittle cooler,but if thats the case, why do some guys run the 540?

Think if it like 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke in motocross. They will both get the job done in this chassis just run what you have. If you are getting all new stuff and think you will stick with 4w short course then go the 550 route and have fun.

I use a 540 because my motor sponsor does not offer a 550 yet.
Think if it like 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke in motocross. They will both get the job done in this chassis just run what you have. If you are getting all new stuff and think you will stick with 4w short course then go the 550 route and have fun.

Just picked up a used SC10 4x4 to try out. Since it is already fully built and set up, I have to figure out how much to take apart to get my servo installed. Anyone have a quick link to the page in this thread that describes the easiest way to access the servo mounting/linkage? Thanks

IMO, 550's will be the two pole, Sensored, Hot, Heavy and Hungry. (Nov, Tek and yes even Vip) These are very popular with "Pro drivers" that only run 5 minute heats or 5 minute practice sessions with fans mounted all over the place and a 1/8 scale esc to feed the beast.
540's will be a 4-pole, Non-sensored (Castle) that keeps up with the 550's with less heat, less juice and less weight.

Maifield's SC10 4X4 with LRP x-12L, SCC TC w/ one fan and standard 2S lipo at the Cactus Classic. Not a 1/8 ESC or numerous fans mounted. Very clean and efficient.

I'm running a Reedy Sonic 2 6.5 in my 4x4, with no fans on the motor, an SXX TC Spec v.2, Reedy 60C 5500 LiPo and have had zero problems.

Since AE has decided it best NOT to offer us dimensions for the O-rings, has anybody found suitable substitutes for the diff outdrives?
One looks like a 5mm OD/1.5mm thick, the other looks like 3.5mm ID 1.5mm thick?
