Think about it, you're putting that power down to the rear wheels with 1/2 the slipper surface area the 2wd has. It's going to take a ton of spring force to keep it from slipping on a powerful motor, and when it does slip, it will glaze the pad. Also seems like the rear pad will always slip before the front pad does... (if at all).
I think the larger FT pads are going to be a must have on this truck, with a more powerful motor at least.

I built the slipper to spec from the manual, used calipers to measure the length on the shaft after the nut. Have not had to adjust it since the build, not using the HD pads either. I think you are right about the spring being the wrong tension.

Start with low first. You're always going to be more efficient with the low timing, and the work it out with the gearing. If you just need a little more oomph, that's when you play with the timing, at the expense of efficiency.

And one of their big bragging points was that they tried to use the same lengths everywhere and how few tools you need to work on it. I had to add a 7mm nut driver and will be adding a custom bent ball end driver for my pinion to my track kit. My Jammin had more hardware continuity than this thing does.....Plus the weight of all those cap heads really adds up.

I am running the normal timing, which is 8 degrees. Using the 1410, mmp. geared 15/62 and everything is fine. I,ve used lowest, low and normal. Normal being the best for me.

Added my swaybars, changed front diff's to 7k and kept rear at 5k, set shocks to 32w all around and switched out my castle 3800kv motor with m 2400kv motor just to test it out for myself to see how it performs........ Still need to do some dialing in at the track tomorrow, but I can't wait to see how it handles with the changes made so far......
