I live in Maryland. No good indoor tracks around here. I race in fredricksburg Virginia. Large 1/8 scale track. Recently my sun and I built a track behind the house. 10 ft lanes and 800 linear feet. Got five kids and for now 4 of them race so we practice here at the house. Had a good turn out last weekend though. Not bad for a private thing.

I am impressed with the 1415 even on 2s....maybe I don't know enough? It is plenty for me. I can't imagine what the 1410 will do....Should know in a few days.
The Castle motors are awesome, the 4 pole has opened up a new market for off road motors. Tekin already has their 4 pole in testing and I am sure Novak could be following close behind. The only issue I see is ROAR events this summer, but if you don't race ROAR no issue. If I had to pick a Castle motor for the SC10 it would be the 1410, the 1415 is more than capable but traditionally the lower KV ratings are more efficient on more voltage. You can stuff a Sky Lipo 3S in there, they are much smaller.

The Viper's not moving from my truck, my runtimes are almost double what they are in the SCTe and it's very smooth, both ESC and motor never break 100 degrees. My 40C packs are also nice and cool, so not much stress on my gear so I am happy.

But honestly it's drop in what ever you feel mixes well with where and what you run. Much less weight restrictions with this truck which opens the door to more options that work well.

When is the viper hitting the market? What's the model number? I would like to have a motor that can be used in both the sc10 and scte.

Not sure on the model number but the name is VST XL 4.5 and 5.5 and they will be ready in 2-3 weeks according to their FB page.

Put the SC10 on the scale tonight, not as light as I thought.

I have been able to run for about 25 mins with my viper and excelerin 6500mah pack. What gearing are you running b/c my temps after 8mins are 120esc and 135motor?

I'm currently running 16/62T on the 1410. In the HOT Texas Sun with temps in the 90's, the Sidewinder can't handle the load without a fan. With a fan, it'll hit 120's. The motor will be in the 160-170's without any additional cooling method (vent, fan, etc).

I like the torque and top end speed on the 16/62. Hardly at WOT.

Yea I have never seen a system run so efficient, I had to double check the LVC. I'm running 14/62, profile 8 on the VTX10R with the VST XL 5.5 550.

We only got 12 minutes out of Louie's sc10 4x4 on the outdoor track on a 5000, and that was with only us marshalling, so prolly only around 10 minutes at race speed. I think you need to pull that trigger a little harder, spend less time on the roof, or buy a new stopwatch

I still want to hear about your ride home last week with Brocious

I'm at 12/62 with the 4.5. My first race. I warmed up for about 2 mins, then I ran for 8mins and finished 4th out of 15. Everybody said mine looked planted. For the next 15mins 7 people drove it and I stood and watched. It never hit the lvc. I was super excited with the run time and power it had. I would like to see my temps a little lower, but what I'm getting is fine.

Default Tire size

Hi
I hear the stock tires are awful
Should I order new wheels and tires or just tires?
If tires, what size? Can you link me to an example?
If wheels, I believe the Losi SC truck ones fit, correct?

Thanks.

Lol, he didn't really say much about racing beside he wasn't going back. I need to get a set of swaybars made b/c it wasn't nearly as planted at en hobbies as it was at classic for me. But outside it ran just fine without swaybars.

Just get another set of tires, and glue them to the wheels.
