When your saying it could be a problem with the motor, could it be the timing I have in it that could be playing a part in this whole thing? It's a reedy sonic 550 4.5 with 10 degrees of advanced timing.

Your lucky to get 9 min with that set-up ....
Bet the temps are way up there, say 190 <> 200 ?

12T max

have use the same motor before

In my 1s chassis, I only use about 1300mha. Battery voltage at the beginning of the charge is like 3.95 or so, finish charge is 4.22. I changed to a Thunder Power charger because my ICE would only charge to 4.18 before stopping, charging the extra .04v was worth another 400mha and about .2 per lap in a car that does laps in the range of 4.2 seconds or so...

I would expect your start voltage per pack to be about 3.8 given the amount of charge they are taking.

You can fabricate a balance plug and charge as a 2s if it makes your life easier. I can take a picture of mine and post it if you want, but I'm warning you - it looks pretty sketchy. It does work, and I charge at 20 amps.

timing is on the motor. speedo is lrp sxx tc spec v2 with 3.0 update and the following profile: 1-0-0-0.
I think we found your problem. I'd set the timing back to whatever the factory setting is and set your speed control at 1-0-2-2 (Kody's) or 1-0-0-2 (Ryans). It'll probally make more power and run cooler for your trouble.

(I don't use LRP, that setting is what Kody used here)

Sooo,

I put DE mud guards on my truck at the last race, and now that i'm going through, and cleaning my truck I've noticed that they rub on the chassis right at the inside screw that holds the guard on. Is this normal when running rpm arms?

I'm not too worried about it because its just going to wear the chassis down during the next few races and give the suspension free movement again, but i'm curious if anyone else has run into this?

No problems with the stock arms and the DE guards.

Yes, I'm running rpm arms. They must have made them thicker in that particular area or something

Do the guards act like mud flaps?

Yeah kind of. They help keep the dirt out of the rear axles and shock shafts.

You can kind of see them in this picture from the races this past weekend.

Well I put the clip spacers on the front, I already had some spacers there to eliminate downtravel but this will add a little more insurance. I ran out for the back, that might help the minor chassis slap I had. Need to get more.

Think I'm going to mess with the rx8 settings now.

Thanks for the pic Cameron, those are on my to get list.

Anyone want to tell me the best way to go about installing a new servo? Bought a roller off of a fellow member, and the task looks daunting.

its really not that bad I took out the 5 screws and removed the front of the chassis then took out the longer screw holding the top of the steering gear in and removed it off the chassis.

The hardest part that I struggled with for a bit was making sure I did not mess with the belt much but since I have done it a few times over the last few days I think it gets easier and easier everytime
