I cant say for sure, but I though mine was doing the same. But once I tightened down the clicker all the way, I stopped hearing it. So what Im rying to say is, that it could be the clicker your hearing, even if it is tightened it can still click unless down all the way.

I read were it is normal to have the belt skip when slipper and clicker are locked down during hard braking.

I spoke with Castle about the SCT system esc getting hot. Here is what they said
1. Mount the esc up high (I mounted mine on rear shock tower) and put holes in window to allow air flow. Esc is pretty light so should be too much problem with weight up high. Castle said you can see 30 to 40 degree temp drops this way. They said fan on esc doesn't have nearly the same Cfm as holes in window.
2. Motor temps should never be an issue if geared properly.
I ran this setup last night with no temp issues
Hope this helps some of you

Point being is I'd leave the esc on the chassis and add the fan.

ESC was a little warmer than motor after 10 minutes but not bad. I added a fan since just to be safe and for long bashing runs.
I had one instance with the MM bec locking my car up, but it was because my endpoints were way off, I was hitting full lock at 70% and the 180oz servo bound up was too much for it.

I would tighten it more. The belt is not designed to slip and it's only a matter of time before you toss a belt or chew it up. The more it slips, the easier it will slip as it wears the cogs on the belt and pulleys. If your motor brake is so powerful you can't overcome it, you'll just have to turn the brake down or loosen the clicker a bit. That extra bit of braking isn't doing anything but wearing out parts.

Is it quieter than the other SC10 4x4s at your track? If so, would you care to share some things you did that weren't listed in the manual?
Is it a lot quieter than the video posted at the top of this page?
Did the sound change after it was broken in for a while? If so, how long did it take?

In my opinion the truck has the potential to be quieter with the 48P gears. Also keep in mind that pinion gear wear can increase noise even with correct gear mesh. If you truck is abnormally loud a new pinion gear can make a big difference.
