Hi all, what's a good gearing (spur/pinion) to to use with the rtr electronics to try and be as competitive as possible? Should I run 2s or 3s? Thanks

I would start with a 14 tooth pinion, stock spur, and a 3s battery.

5k in the front will reduce your on power steering from what you had. Don't be afraid to go back to the grease if it works better for you. I ran grease/grease/3k for a while and was actually pretty happy with that. However, 5/7/3 might actually work out for your driving style. I'd try 5/7/3 and make sure you have 1 degree toe out. I've had my ends auto-adjust so that my toe was close to zero or maybe even toe in (hard to know with slop - lol) and it really messed up how my truck turned on power.

Thanks for the help guys
I have never reamed my arms even with the stock pins,I just sanded the pins a little. The new pins will ride in the arms much better,You( should) not have to ream any thing, but plastic does get weird when You mold it and You need to check it .With the shocks off the towers, they should flop up and down very nicely!Next step is get the Hard Ano balls and new rod ends with the (8) ti turn buckles, really takes some of the front end slop out!!Good luck with that lap record!!Wait do You race at Tonys hobbies??I think I had the record LOL

I just ordered some nanos from the usa warehouse. I opted for the 2-3 day shipping since it was only a dollar more than the 3-5 day. We shall see if it really does get here in 2-3 days (doubt it).

Honestly, I wouldn't run a 14T on the rtr motor. That motor is a 550 4pole 2800kv. A 14T on it would have TONS of low end to the point that it would probably just spin all over the place. I'm pretty sure it comes with an 18T stock, and to be honest with you, all you need to do to the truck to be really competitive is to change to a better servo.

As far as the 2s or 3s, I would just settle on getting a 2s. Pretty much anywhere you are going to go and race you are going to be limited to 2s. There are the random tracks around that will let you race 3s, but if you are planning on going to different tracks in the future, get used to the 2s. Plus, if you are wanting to go to any of the bigger races, you aren't allowed to run a 3s. It's just my opinion that 2s is fast enough on a racetrack.

Hope this helps a little.

I meant for a 14 with 3s. Used to have a 2400 castle motor but due to the larger racetracks rules i decided to get something made for 2s. If your track is pretty chill like mine you should be able to run 3s. Still you can run 2s everywhere so 18t is about right for that kv motor on 2s.

When I order from the International warehouse it's usually 6 days, from the order date, using EMS Express.

I just ordered some too but my experience has been that it takes the same amount of time as from the International warehouse, 6 days from order date. That 2-3 days is only shipping time, it doesn't take into account the time it takes for them to pull the inventory, package it up, and actually ship it.

I ordered late last night yesterday and they shipped today. That tells me the whole order process takes about 4-5 days. Still that is way better than the month1/2 -2 months i waited when they were on backorder.ps congrats on both of us having 500 posts at the same time!!!!
