Looking for a complete set of spare shocks for the scte. If anyone has extra they want to sell shoot me a pm to let em know. I want to test the mip bypass pistons without tearing my other shocks apart.

Need some help fellas. I've got 2 scte's and can't seem to get the motor temps down in either one of them. One is an rx8 with a ballistic 4.5 geared 13/40 coming off the track after 5 minutes at 180°. The other is an mmp with a revtech 4xs 3800kv geared 13/40 coming off the track after 5 minutes at 195°. Neither esc has any timing advance, ballistic is set at 15° on the label, turned it down to the edge of the label which is supposed to be 0° with no change in temp. The revtech was set on the long line, turned it down to the first short line and the temps went to 235°, turned it up to the 2nd short line past the long line and we're back to 190° again. Both trucks are running gens ace 5000mah 2s 65c batteries. Manual states to start at 16t pinion with a 4.5 but I'm afraid to move up with the temps that I'm experiencing. Generally if I would be under-geared the esc would be hot but they're both running 110-120° after each 5 minute test session. Doesn't appear to be any binding in either truck that would cause the excessive motor temps. Really at a loss here guys, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I normally come in after a 10 min main at 140 geared 14/40. I may be that you are over revving the motor to create or excessive wheel spin. Try going up one or two tooth on the pinion.

I'll try moving up a few teeth tomorrow. I can always pull in after 3 minutes to check temps. I just assumed the esc would be hot if being under-geared was the problem.

What batteries are you running? If below 50c that can cause higher temps.
also check your gear mesh for binding.
Double check your esc settings too.

The 8 with 4 or more cells puts a lot more stress on the gearbox so they are more likely to need the Al inserts in the tranny. The scte does not have the power and torque that most are running in the 8.

I run the 8 2.0 plastic turnbuckle plastic on mine. It is a better grade of plastic and has not self adjusted on me in over a year. I think it helps in not needing the HA balls on the suspension. Cheap mod.

So you use the stock scte rods and balls?
