Good seeing you today Kevin. Had a great time and hey, I only finished down 1 lap to ya Those pix don't do your new body justice. It looks so much nicer in person which is saying a lot because in those pix it's pretty bad ass!

Yes it has happened to me after a couple months of racing. There is a person in here that makes an aluminum sleeve to go over it just have to find it. For now preventitive maitenance of a new driveshaft and shroud or just the shroud will have to be the ticket!

That pin wearing like that IS normal , if it ovals out the hole in the CV hub then switch too the other set (ther are 2 sets of holes in the hub) . I have also had to replace mine but there were MANY packs throught it before I need to . Havent had it come through the plastic retainer yet , knock on wood (hits self in head) .

Default Hows this setup

i dont feel like going through like 1400 pages to find the answer im looking for. i had the novak havoc pro motor/esc combo in my car but it only ran 2s. i didnt like that so i bought the traxxas velenion brushless motor with the vxl 3s esc or something that can run 3s. it is the 540 size, but after putting a heat sink and fan on the motor the thing runs around 150 degrees and rips. is there anything i should watch out for with the 540 size in a heavier short course besides overheating?

I'd tell you but I don't feel like typing it.

Should be fine other than the fact that you are putting a lot of stress on that motor even if it doesn't overheat. Just know that your motor is going to wear out faster than if you had a 4 pole or 550 motor.

I see magic smoke in your future. Two of the most unreliable esc's on the matket with the heavy Losi pushing that 540 is asking for trouble.

To the person that posted that new painted body by paint monster, Looks amazing I'm going to have them do a body for me after seeing that. How much does it cost ?

Also Is the Castle 1415, 2400kv motor a 540 or 550 motor?????
- its 69.5mm so I would think its a 550 size motor?

Also does anyone run the 1415, 2400kv and Mamba max Pro in there Scte??
- This is the setup going into my truck on 3-4s. I may upgrade to the new tekin 4600 and run it on my MMP.

As Ryan has stated it is critical to keep this joint greased due to the angle it is at. Losi is working on a set screw coupler for this or you can look into one of the guys here making alum sleeves to replace the plastic cover. Check your part to make sure the coupler or outdrive are not worn out which will cause excessive play and may need to be replaced

I'm having the same issue . My sleeve is fine I have the original sleeve but the hole gets ovaled so the pin doesn't stay in the hole it slides inside the coupler. I'm on my 3rd Cv as well and that's using both holes on each one.

My axles were the worst for ovaling but I am just on my second set. I will admit I am not a every week driver but I have had the truck for a while. I put a pretty health coat of losi black grease in all my joints though to make sure they are properly lubed.
