ditto... dialed in pro4 4000, PLENTY of power on medium-sized indoor high-bite track (60x135) with 14 or 15-tooth on tekin rx8 controller. Tons of torque (almost too much, not sure how you guys are getting 4600 power to the ground!), stormerhobbies.com has them in stock $135, got mine shipped ground to TX got here in 2 days. TL 80, brakes 50 (I think) otherwise just stock ESC settings.

I also had one Pop out and Gouge the Aluminum on the way out a little but no worries on overall Durability, It took a good Hit to knock that bushing to pieces.

You can get the wider hexes we make so you can use the scte wheels on the xxx-sct, just as an fyi

If you had the chance to buy the SCTE again, would you? Or would you go with something else?

Also posted this question in the SC10 4x4 thread. Since I'm considering the Losi or the AE.

With the 4600 you can reduce two things to control it,dial down your th epa and give negative values on th expo as well to get the power to the ground!!Cheers

Because it is Overkill!!And this truck is more like an 1/8 scale than a 1/10 scale! And the 550 motors really are not an 1/10 scale motor and the 540`s are barely 1/10 scalable

We had a fun night of racing at OCRC tonight. There were several fast guys in attendance from rctech...

In the mains...it was the Losi SCTE, in the top 6 out of the ten drivers...

Casper took the win with a Tekin Rx8 and Tekin 4600
Kevin (me) took second with a Tekin Rx8 and Tekin 4600
Scott Kelley took third with a Tekin 4600 and a SC8 speedo
Hacker07 ( Ryan ) took 4th , after his car shut off , while in second, but ran great..
Ryan runs Viper speed control and a Viper 550 motor.

is shoe goo just good for preventive maintence for a body or will it fix a body too. if it will fix bodies do you put it on over the body or under the paint? or is it best to use on the underside of body directly on the plastic?

does it dry clear and paintable if applied directly to the underside??

any help from the guys that have used this would be greatly appreicated!!!!
got a few weak spots on the scte body I need to touch up!!

The ESC stays about 120-130. Could the ESC be a big factor in the heat of the motor? I'm planning on getting a RX8 but LHS was out of them.
If you're running timing, I'd turn it down quite a bit or drop a couple of teeth on your pinion. I went from running a 16T on my CC 1410 3800kv motor and dropped all the way down to a 13T on my Tekin Pro4 4600. dropping the tooth count on my pinion dropped my temps considerably and allowed me to still run a little bit of timing.

Kevin, I had a blast running with you, Ryan and Casper tonight. Man, you are FAST! We all obviously know how fast Ryan and Casper are, but you're right there with them and you ran strong all night long! I was glad to finally put in a good showing after how poorly I did in the qualifying heats. Good seeing you tonight, hopefully I'll get to run with you more often. BTW, glad you liked running that Nano-tech 65-130c 6000mah bat, hard to believe how good of a battery that thing is for the price! Thanks for showing me how to look up my MAH on my charger too, can't believe i couldn't figure that out

It's both a preventative measure as well as a mending tool. I use drywall tape in the high stress areas, then Shoe Goo over it in several thin coats. This builds strength in the high stress areas and will prevent premature cracking. But as the body does get worn and does crack, you can use a piece of the drywall tape to hold the body together where the crack is, then use Shoe Goo again to fill and mend it and add strength back to that area. It works VERY well. The drywall tape really adds to the strength as well, not just the Shoe Goo but they should be used together. You can use Shoe Goo without using the drywall tape, but you can't use the drywall tape without using the Shoe Goo. Hope that helps!
