To add the Traxxas turnbuckles I had to grind some of the mount, to avoid interference. I also added some of the slim nuts on the outside screws as well, the same as the inboard ones. You will need 3mm screws, and I cut them to fit. I lost a few laps because of the ball cups.

I popped a couple turnbuckles when I first got it. I just would throw them out and put a new one on. First time I couldn't use them twice. It did it 3 times. Then I ran out and had to buy more. Haven't had any issues since. I was popping the inside on the ackerman, specifically the right side. Since buying the new ones I haven't had any issues. I am outdoors mostly now on a 1/8 sized track this new layout has some huge jumps. took a couple of really long cartwheels and haven't broke or popped anything...except I did chip another tooth on the rear ring gear. I just replaced it and the pinion about 2 months ago. The chipped tooth fell in the gear and locked up the rear end on me.

I race on a small track and I am always hitting something, mainly my fault of course. I just need a system that can take the abuse, and others I know do the same thing as well. It was such a blast to be able to race and not worry about them on my Desc410 that persuaded me to change them all, and the Desc210 as well. The Traxxas turnbuckles are very smooth. I was going north of some big change trying to figure something out, and it was right there in front of me the whole time. But finally it is done. I am sure my servos are going to be replaced more often than before, but they are very tough.

To save the front shock towers. I used the HPI vorza shock protectors. Do a search on this thread for it a bit back, I have pics and diagrams posted with it and how to install it.

http://www.rctech.net/forum/13551994-post16830.html

It will save a lot of front shock towers.

The Shock Protectors are essential I would say. Once I added them to the front of my buggy I stopped breaking shock towers. I haven't run them on the rear but it couldn't hurt, I have broken the rear in the past but been lucky since I guess. Great tip by Dino.

Dear Durango lovers and DEX410 lovers especially. I'm still a lover of Durango although I had to take the plunge and get a D413 to see what all the hype is about. I don't wanna blow up the thread unless people really want to hear my comparisons. I have just finished assembling my D413 so I haven't driven it yet. At this moment I can only compare the build and design elements but I'm happy to share if it's worthwhile to everyone here.

Did I mention I still love Durango? I still have my DEX210, I just love to build cars and I've never built an HPI or HB car. The build was sweet!

I have a CF rear tower. Brand new that I've kept as a spare in my parts box. I HAVE TONS OF EXTRA PARTS. Please ask. I'll PM you about the tower.

Did well tonight as nothing broke. It is nice to race and the car hold together. I did put on captured steering turnbuckles.

So I am rebuilding the rear diff and notice the out drives are a tad wobbly. I went ahead and bought new outdrives and diff case. Should I purchase new gear ring gear as well?
