Andy was fast this weekend. He was the guy to beat from the get go. I have raced with Andy for many years and know just how fast he can be. It was a great race.

Cactus next year..... We will have to see. I would love to do it but we will have to see how things are going by then. I have a new kid on the way in Nov and I am starting a new job in about a month. I will continue racing but not sure how much traveling I will be doing next year just yet. I am hoping I will get a chance to make it out there though.

Anyone seeing wear issues in the rear suspension blocks, especially the front one? I had hinge pin pull out of the rear block this weekend and I noticed that the hole in the block was elongated. Only the third raceday on the car.

It could be one good crash stretched it out?

No issues with the blocks on my end. I did kind of wear out the suspension bushings but replaced them and everything was good and tight again. Blocks are still good to go.

The "crash" that dislocated it was not even a crash. I bounced off another car, never flipped over. I did not see anything wrong until the turn marshall picked up the car. I suppose the hole could have been elongated in a previous round of qualifying. Have you heard of plans to make an aluminum hop up?

They might in the future or you might see it as a hop up. I know they make all the supports for the Lazer so it may just be a matter of time. I have been through some pretty nasty crashes lately with the car and it is still holding together like a champ. I would give the stock parts one more try before I looked for other options.

Its definately nice to see such strong factory support for this car! Ive kinda fallen out of love with AE, so I think I might give the RB5 a go.

I wonder if shimming the rear brace to take out the anti squat is causing some tension on the front brace. I will am going to try not using shims under the rear brace and see if that helps or maybe flipping the front block to take out the anti squat. I am also going to order up some of the teflon balls for the hinge pins. Overall I am very happy with the car. It does drive better out of the box than the BK2 or B4.

Ok here is my setup from the shootout for the RB5. All stock parts used and no need to do anything crazy to make the car work. Driver error and hard luck with some traffic kept the car from finishing higher. I was running on pace with the leaders when not getting wrecked!

Remeber it was pretty hot out there and traction was high. I would probably go down 2.5wt for every 10 deg cooler the track was.

I hear you. You guys need to get busy on the 1/10 4wd 'truggy'. Then in 5 years you can sell that one to TTAE.

The upper plastic piece is the same for both cars. The upper part of the shock is the same. The just changed the lower cartridge design. I would try and get you one but I am about 3000 miles away!
