Questions?? 17.5 NR gearing????

Hi ,
Can someone give me a good starting point for gearing a 17.5 NR in my RB5 sp2
FDR or gearing ??? I have a 78t 48p spur right now.

i use a ae 72 spur and 26 pinion with a duo 3 motor and tekin rs.i have a little boost-like 15.and the car hauls ass and temps about 120.

Use an AE 72 with AE slipper pads (fits perfectly) and a 28 pinion. Should work well.

I run the 75/29 combo with boost.
(Novak Kinetic + 13.5)

I need a good gearing setup for a 8.5 in a rb5....med. bite clay...pretty open layout.

I would have to run it side by side, but I run 11.5 boosted in mod, and it's about as good as I have used IMO..

Anyone here familiar with the Kyosho Triumph? I'm wondering if any of the RB5 parts are usable on Triumph. My son is racing one. Its still a decent car but if he breaks anything....he's gonna have to buy a new car.

You have a vintage car my friend... Back in the day i ran for kyosho Canada we would use AE stealth tranny with AE shocks front/rear... You may find parts on ebay

Dang, I've seen what's on eBay...$$$$. And I probably won't break anything in the tranny...probably break an a-arm. Well, he'll just have to make a commitment if he wants to stick with it.
