Joe I see you are online... I am going to ask a question and hopefully you will be able to answer it... Why have kyosho released the lazer sp with a completely different chassis to what you guys were running at the worlds?

I think the gold bodies...along with all that red stuff is just adachi's personal custom setup...but if kyosho offers gold bodies, sign me up!

I stripped an idler gear in practice on sunday, I got the new set today, but putting it together, the main shaft is not meshing with the idler correctly anymore. I cleaned out all of the teeth on the main shaft, it does look a little worn, oddly if you spin it in reverse it's free, just forward its binding. I checked the bearings, they are fine, if I move the main shaft away from the idler it frees up, but I have no way to do this with the cases together. Any ideas? if the LHS has a new main shaft I'll get one, but they aren't open tomorrow and race night is fri

is your tranny case shaft hole still in tact? not enlarged or anything? I have a new tranny case I can probably over night you if you needed it.

The shaft doesn't have much play at all, I can only move it enough to make a difference with one side off. I have new stuff on the way from speedtech, not sure it will get here by fri though, thanks for the offer. The lhs should have the case if I need it too.

Maybe its the new idler. Try flipping it around and see if its free. You said its ok backward is what I'm thinking.

You need to replace the top shaft. They wear out. Kyosho is working on the issue but the top shaft material will wear out over time and needs to be replaced. If you end up stripping out the idler gear replace the top shaft at the same time.

Thanks,

From the bottom of the shock to the top of the eyelet is 20.8mm

Mike, I remember betts had this very same issue with his top shaft in his rb5. I think that part is like 20 bucks too. So weak.

The Lazer SP is something that Kyosho has had in the works for awhile now. It comes with the middle rear end and a few changes with the front end. There were also some drivers using this 4wd at the Worlds. Im not too sure what is going at this time with the prototype version we ran at the Worlds. When I find out more I will for sure post it.
