When we first started running this rear end we found the same thing as far as the rear end not rotating.

This is why we went to a 1mm shim under the ball stud in the rear tower and no ball stud washers under the ball stud in the hub. This allowed the car to lean in the corner.

There are actualy two different lengths of the silver springs. You will be able to use the softer springs and still get the proper ride hieght. I have been running front arms level and rear bones level. (this will be rear arms just below level if you run the rear hubs in the upper hole).

I just wanted to say that this car is fantastic. I have run it the last two weeks in practice and feel that I have it pretty well dialed in. I'm racing it for the first time this Sunday so I'm hoping for a good result. Well done Kyosho, I haven't had this much fun with an R/c since my original XXT.

Thanks for the reply, I am not too worried about it. The car drives better than my friends B4 FT both cars at the stock setup from the manuals.

Default Getting the Front to Lean

Joe,

I ended up with the same thing through trial and error. My car felt too locked in and I wasn't getting any roll through corners. I removed the shims from the hub and went to 1mm under the ball stud on the tower. After that I am getting the feel I want in the back. Now what can I do in the front? My feeling is that the car pushes rather than rolls through corners in the front. What can I do to get the same effect in the front without making the front twitchy?

Thanks.

Here is my set-up:

Front:
3-B Pistons
35wt Losi Oil
Orange Front Springs
No Limiters in shocks with shock ends unthreaded 4 turns
30 degree kick-up/no spacer used
Shocks mounted in middle location on tower and outside location on the arm
2-B Camberlink with no washers under the ball stud (middle on bulkhead/outside on caster block)
Spindles in upper position
1/4oz of weight under steering rack (fits great)

Rear:
3-B Pistons
30wt Losi Oil
Dark Yellow Rear Springs
No Limiters in shocks with New W5183-02 Shock Shafts (54mm) (The stock RB5 shock shafts are 50mm and are too short...do not use)
Shocks mounted in middle location on tower and middle location on New LA243 arm
2-B Camberlink with 1mm washer under ballstud on shock tower brace and no washers under ball stud on hub
(middle on shock tower and outside on hub)
Hubs spaced in the middle position

Stock Anti-Squat (2 degrees)
1/4 oz under rear tower

Extra Info:

Joe, thanks for posting your setup for us! What battery are you running? 4200 or Lipo?

I assume with the small amount of weight you add to your car it is 4200. However, I have not added any weight to mine (other than the 1.25 oz's to balance the GTB) and I run a 6000 MAH Maxamps lipo in the car. I have had REALLY good luck with the car w/o adding extra weight.

Thanks,

Chris

Thats the exact set-up i have evolved to for the front. Tons 'o' steering.

Front:

No problem at all. This is the same set-up we ran at the Worlds.

Yes, I am running our new Team Orion 4200SHO batteries. We will receive our first shipment the middle of next month!

If I run Li-Po batteries, then I add enough weight to equal a 4200.

Can you measure the length from the bottom of the shock to the eyelet for us? I would like to get a reference to the stock length. I assume it would be longer but the stock length allows some threads to show so I am a little concerned to unthread them 4 turns!

Thanks,

Chris
