I know nothing about rc cars and need help I just acquired a 2x4 1/10 scale truck I was told it only needed a battery so I bought one charged it installed it stearing works fine when I turn it on I get a few beeps then one beep and the throttle will work for about 3 seconds then nothing any help will be greatly appreciated

Many here can help, they just need more info.
are you able to read anything on the speed controller?
What type of battery?
what controller and reciever?
are you able to take pictures and then load them on flikr and post the links here so people can see what you have?
