Serpent just released a few new parts and look like they have a few things coming for the 4wd. Serpent UK and RudeBits have been rolling out parts every few months as well. I feel the car was ahead of the curve and the other brands have caught up but the serpent cars aren't behind (maybe with 13mm shocks). We're just plugging away with the cars. They're just as competitive as ever.

What new parts did Serpent release?

Updated battery holder for the SRX2 G3 like the Klinik one with the bands, carbon chassis for the SRX4 G3 and brass skid plate. There's also a new front braking system for the 4wd that's appeared on the website too but it's not available yet. I'm curious to see if Billy will be at carpet nationals with any updates.

Did Serpent have any presence at the Off-road Worlds this year?
Any rumors of updates like 13mm shocks coming out?

No, they didn’t - it was mentioned a few times during the live streams. I’m a bit surprised Billy Easton didn’t show up at all either. Being a former champion, he has an open invite, so with the WC having been here in the US this year, I would have thought that he might have given it a go. It might have been worth the exposure at least if they want to sell some more buggies, but Serpent has been pretty focused on their On-Road efforts this year, with both the 1/8th GT WC last week, and the 1/8th IC On-Road WC coming up next month.

Hi! sorry if that has been already ansewered (I searched, but no luck): I'm having a hard time trying to decipher what is the difference between the gen3 & the gen3 carpet, besides the differential and the front and rear anti-roll bars. Is there anything else? I run on dirt and low grip astro, but I'm looking at a sale of the carpet kit...

No. Never found it necessary. I've raced this buggy on and off and have found it to be one of the most underated 2wd out there. The newest Team edition has been one of the best buggies I've ever driven on clay. Too bad racers don't give this brand a try. Sadly I left the hobby and sold it.

I've recently acquired one of these after failing miserably with my D2Evo, straight away much better results and this weekend will be my first running with the willspeed rear end fitted. 👍👌

What's the verdict on the Willspeed kit?

Produces great rotation within corner, fits well. Diff height change is a pain as it's split the whole case apart so choose wisely initially and diff oil selection lol.

Increase tire wear at the rear I found also.

So is the point of this design to move the motor/battery forward for a better weight balance?
Could the tire wear be due to increased spinning because of less weight on the rear?

Absolutely is, the tire wear is definitely a bi-product of less rear weight over/around the rear axle. Compromise for rotational performance
