Sometimes I make my 4wd 5ive 2wd, it's great fun. Probably shed weight off the front and fly more neutral without needing extra weight off a tire on the back.
I'll drive it 4wd, and 2wd. It it drives like crap in 2wd I'll just return it to normal. I'd also have to buy an extra diff or something to lock it, as I wanna keep original diff in good working order (which is a touch of a concern if those plates inside wear and create debris. I have no idea how they work)

Just a forewarning for people purchasing this truck. Take my advice based on my experiences, or take the risk and run with it. Immediately ditch the FUZE esc and go with a Hobbywing MAX5!!! Do not attempt to run it, eventually it will fail. I own both the DBXL-E and the 6ix which both come stock with the same esc as the Rey. I went through 3 FUZE esc's with the 6ix, each was a new replacement from Horizon. They could not explain the reason for the failures. Eventually I gave up and got the Max 5, no issues since. The esc in my DBXL-E is surprisingly still functioning besides the fact that it NO LONGER HAS REVERSE!!!!

While I never had problems with DBXL-E, I did replace it with a MAX5 after a few months. I gave the old FUSE ESC to a friend for his XMaxx and it's still working for him. I know the FUZE is just a rebranded MAX6, but maybe it's somehow sub par quality to keep the costs lower.

DBXLe Weight (without batteries) :27.50 lbs
Xmaxx Weight (without batteries): 19.10 lbs
For reference, the SBR is 19.45 lbs (without batteries), so maybe the MAX6 installed as OE will survive? This is also billed as a "6s only" rig...
While the Max6 is a 8s capable ESC...in some cases the OEM's can have Hobbywing (or whatever other supplier they use) encode some custom firmware that only allows the ESC to operate under certain conditions. Maybe Losi has done this with the SBR?
Either way...here's to finding out soon!

So is this the correct upgraded esc for 8s or is it the maxx5? Tks for clarifying as they are 2 separate sizes.
