As you can tell, everybody showed up for the first day of qualifying. If you could find a square foot of a pit space that didn't have a car on it, you're one step ahead of the rest of us.
There he is, Mr. Scotty Ernst (left), the man in charge. He kept us all entertained and kept the program moving smoothly, as always.
Some more pictures of the track, some with action in them. Note that the cars move too fast for my poor little digital camera to keep up -- and they say 35mm is dead. The last pic, on the bottom, is the last heat of mod sedan all lined up -- see if you can spot your favorite driver's car...
The view of the drivers' stand. Would get more of these shots but I figure they don't particularly like a flash going off in their eyes during the race!
Whenever the factory guys take the stand, a huge crowd mysteriously assembles.
The only place that saw more action than the track was the tech table. In fact, a certain 2001 ROAR Champion failed tech and missed a heat... oops!
