2002 International Model & Hobby Expo
For the second consecutive year, R/C Tech is proud to present coverage of the International Model & Hobby Expo from the Rosemont Convention Center in Chicago, IL. An annual tradition for the entire R/C industy, the Hobby Expo is the place for manufacturers to showcase their latest and greatest products.

This year, a few notable companies were missing (Trinity, HPI) but the atmosphere at the show was still very positive. Many factory-sponsored drivers were onhand to push their sponsors' latest products, and there was even an invitational spec-class race held using Tamiya Minis. All in all, everybody had a great time, and you can be sure that we'll be back next year.

Although we do not provide "magazine quality" photographs with no backgrounds, we like to think that seeing the products on the show floor gives everybody a better idea of what it's like to attend an industry trade show, and gets everybody a little bit closer to the action. We hope you feel the same way!

Airtronics (Sanwa)

Airtronics was showing its own version of the M8 radio coupled with the new Novak "Switch" module and the Novak XXtra receiver. This combination will allow for crystal-less operation on the 75MHz FM band (with support for the 27 MHz FM band planned in the near future).

Although they are designed more for the R/C Helicopter market, these aluminum servo heatsinks will add some flash (and heat dissipation) to your existing Airtronics servos.

Team Associated

Associated joins the battle of the ready-to-run monster trucks with its own entry, the Monster GT. Featuring a .21-sized engine and a 2-speed reversible transmission, the Monster GT looks to become a must-have for monster truck enthusiasts.

The other big news from Associated at this year's show was the RC10B4 prototype. Although it's not ready for production, the car is looking great, and packed full of innovative features. As RC10 fans will surely recognize, the most notable changes are in the car's front end, with forward-swept arms and the shocks positioned behind the front tower.

It's the good old "wall full of parts" from Associated!

BoLINK

Here are some of the latest bodies and products from BoLINK. Looking great as always!
