Default The Summer Showdown - Presented by: Scotty Ernst @ Clark RC Park

Just a few weeks away I wanted to make sure everyone knows about this event at Clark RC Park.

Practice
We will be running a practice session on Friday August 5th from 2pm til 6pm.

Dates
The Summer Showdown will be August 6th, 2011. We will be opening the track at 7:00am and no one will be allowed on the track before that. The first round of qualifying will begin at 10:00 am. Please be ready to go!

Fees
Race fees for the first class will be $20 and $10 per additional class.

Classes
We will be running Expert Buggy and Truggy, Intermediate Buggy and Truggy, Open Short Course, 4x4 Short Course and Electric Buggy and Truggy.

Awards
We have very nice awards designed for this event and they will be awarded for the top 3 of each class.

Sponsor Giveaways
We have had sponsors kick in lots of items for the race and we will be handing them out throughout the day, we will have more details on the day of the event.

Food
Food and drinks will be available and I will try to have a menu up before the event.

Electricity
We do have power out to the track but with the number of participants we are expecting for this event it would be wise to bring a generator if you have one.

Any other questions, post on here or shoot me a pm or email [email protected]

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you out at the track!

We are going to have a change in the layout and want the racers to be on a level playing field on race day.

race fees?
The fees are $20 for the first class and $10 for the second.

i haven't been to any large outdoor events, but the indoor ones i've been to usually have a day for practice before the big event. I understand that's more work but it is better for the racers from out of town. It helps them to get accustomed to the track, the view, and how things work at your track. Even if only half show up for the scheduled practice before, that's half that doesn't have to stress about getting to the drivers stand before their first qualifier/drivers meeting.

Tim

Not flaming by ANY means. The track looks awesome, can't wait to see it. It doesn't mean you'd have to have a whole day of practice, but you'd be surprised how just 2-3 (maybe 5-8 or something) hours of practice Friday will calm things down Saturday.

Really guys. This is not that technical of a track or that big of a race that you couldnt pick it up on the first 10 minutes of driving it. Dont get me wrong. Its a fun track. But it flows good. Bad flowing tracks need alot of practice. But if its a "make it level for all' idea and the track is going to change alittle, why have it open on Friday when most cant come to get the extra 2-3 hours of practice. I think a timed practice say 10 minute sessions would be plenty. Then everybody has the same potential. Just my opinion.Chuck

I myself would like to see practice on Friday. Everywhere I've been has it. But I will do what I will have to do. Brad is correct Saturday practice will be nuts. I myself don't like controlled practice. Rather RUN, change setup, RUN, Etc.
